This three-story, multi-staged, 21-meter tall wooden pavilion inside Yiheyuan was built in honer of the Empress Dowager Cixi's 60th birthday and was one of her favorite places to view operas. Featuring trap doors, a deep well and even ponds, it still occasionally stages operas to this day.
