Was so happy to go see a film here last night and find that they had salted popcorn unlike most of the cinemas in China! The staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing, the seats were large and comfy with lots of leg room, location is convenient for those living in Sanlitun, Dongzhimen and Gulou and there are a couple of very reasonably priced 24 hr congee and dim sum places, as well as fast food, noodle shops, Subway and Baskin Robbins nearby to grab a pre/post-movie meal. There's also a bowling alley opening til midnight in East Gate for people looking for something to do after. Only complaint is that the sound was slightly off once or twice and the picture flickered at times (only very slightly). Go for half priced Tuesdays - RMB35 - as opposed to full price - RMB70 - at other times; they have all the new releases with English and Chinese versions and Chinese or English subtitles depending on the film (make sure you ask before you buy the tickets).

Wish the people here would learn to stop chatting and answering their cell phones as though it's their living room all the way through movies though :(
