Elisa's Italian Restaurant 爱丽莎意大利餐厅

Fine Italian dining it ain’t, but that’s part of Elisa’s appeal if you ask us – decent food, decent prices. Instead of a romantic evening à la Lady and the Tramp, you’d best save Elisa’s for a casual group of family or friends. Menu features dishes ranging from capricciosa pizza to gnocchi and saltimbocca, a patrician meal of tender grilled veal escallops with fresh Parma ham and sage.

Below average, at best

Well, the fries were above average at least.

But the "Greek salad" was pathetic and had very little of anything in regards to ingredients. For the price, the salad was too sparse and I would not recommend it. It was really, more of a cucumber plate with a few tomatoes and iceberg lettuce thrown in with sub-par dressing.

Now when I go out to eat at a non chain pizza restaurant, I have certain expectations: Namely, the pizza will be fresh and the food will be piping hot. Especially when you go to a pizza restaurant, getting a nice hot pizza is very important. I waited a long time for the pizza to come out, so with that said, I was very disappointed to receive a lukewarm pizza, and no one at the restaurant seemed to care about this when I brought it up to them. I expect a warm pizza with delivery from a fast food chain, but not when I actually come to the restaurant. I came in around 9:45 or 10 pm, so the place still had an hour left before it closed, but that still does not excuse the quality of the pizza. I really think the restaurant should be ashamed of its "Greek" salad" as well as the tepid pizza, poor service (I had to get up and get the plates myself at one point) and they were also very moderate with toppings on the pizza.

I've been a few times. They have a good pizza oven, the first 2 times the pizza was quite good. Last Sunday I went however and my meatballs were undercooked, raw in the middle, and the pizza was well overcooked. The owner or manager was at the table next to me chatting with friends, didn't even bother to look at the dishes he could hear me sending back, or go and talk to the kitchen to see what was going on. I won't be back.

Decent Italian restaurant

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, but I found the setup adorable, especially with the way you can see the brick oven from the dining room. It was a Saturday evening, but my friend and I were the only diners, and I can't understand why. The menu has lots of options, I was impressed with the range of dishes, and the prices weren't bad. Oh, and there was fried mozzarella. You don't find that often in Beijing- and they did it pretty well. The service was quick (though, not like they had anyone else to take care of). My pasta was great- not a huge portion, but I didn't go hungry. I had the spinach and ricotta tortellini in pink sauce, which is an example of the interesting dishes they include on their menu-- definitely more choices than your run-of-the-mill italian eatery.

If it weren't so far from where I live, I'd definitely go back there to eat often.

Authentic pizza with superb pizza sauce

Elisa's Italian Restaurant offers a delectable break from Chinese food. The pizza is baked in a wood burning oven and has a generous amount of cheese with the perfect amount of well-seasoned sauce. The toppings are extensive and include the ever necessary pepperoni and sausage and are not expensive to add. The entire menu, in fact, is quite affordable and will not break your wallet. Even the salads are good, just except a tiny serving on these, even the "large".

Good eats

Had an enjoyable Sunday pizza and salad with my friends. Moderately crowded, but had enough service to leave us wanting nothing. Has wifi; just ask for the password. Pizza is cooked in a wood-burning stove which greatly improves the taste over other pizzerias in Bj in my humble opinion. No complaints and I look forward to eating there again.

Good casual Italian

I eat here regularly and have always found it to be pretty good. It's definitely not fancy, nor "real" Italian, but I much prefer Elisa's over Annie's. I think, overall, it's a bit less expensive too. My personal favorite is the gnocchi with gorgonzola cream sauce--not for the dieter but delicious if you like the gorg.
Their specials can be hit or miss, but sometimes they're quite delicious. We had a pan-seared goose liver with green apple the other day that was just awesome. And I guess any Italian restaurant review must address the pizza: Elisa's is pretty decent; not as good as The Tree but better than Annie's. Delivery is nice, too.
Of course, this is just my opinion.

Horrible Italian food.

I have been to some Italian restaurants in Beijing, and I have never had such a bad experience like in this one. Elisa's Italian Restaurant is located in a nice area, and the appearance of the restaurant is not bad at all. That is what made me think that their food would also be good, or at least ok.

The service was ok, the menu has a good variety of pastas and pizzas and the price is also not bad. The only problem is that the food is horrible! I went with my girlfriend and she asked for a lasagna and what I can say is that it was the worst that I had in my hole life. Small portion in a plate, bad sauce that was very acid, lack of salt, of cheese, meat in the sauce and so on. They put two big pieces of mozzarella in the top of the very small lasagna, and didn't even wait for the cheese to melt. And the cheese by the way was not good.

I ordered an Italian Pasta that I like very much that is Gnocchi and it was bad just like the lasagna. Very small portion, with really bad sauce and the consistence of the pasta was just not right.

Well, to complete my girlfriend had some lemon tea that tasted like dirty water.

Probably one of the worst Italian restaurants in Beijing. If you want good Italian food I recommend you to go somewhere else.
