Good quality for price
We always order Gung Ho pizza for late night Culture Yard staff meetings, and we are based in Beixinqiao and they never take too long to deliver and the pizza still arrives warm from the Gung Ho Sanlitun branch. They don't have a lot of variety with the pizza flavours, but it is very tasty and makes ordering in food for a big group of people a lot easier!

It's good, man.
First time at Gung Ho as I was initially repelled by their pink uniforms and their practice of putting tofu on pizza. I associated the place with pretentious hippies. I was wrong.
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and take-out service.
Disgustingly polite, helpful staff. Pizza on wheat crust is really good. Wings were a bit soggy but tasted great. Report on the salad being good though I didn't partake because it contained tuna.
We had to leave in a hurry so left an unfinished hot drink and took the food to go, they were polite enough to include a new drink with the takeaway order.
The place is clean, has different spices on the table, and the wings come with dipping sauce. They have several different flavours of FRICKIN' DIPPING SAUCE.
Sure it's more expensive but worth it. I've never had the delivery service but that take-out service was ace.
Hard to believe some of the poor reviews below considering what I experienced.
All the employees yell everytime someone leaves on delivery. That could annoy people I guess but it's not much of a sitdown restaurant anyway.
An honest 5 stars for this late lunch.

Second best Pizza in Beijing....Seriously?
I am really desperate to like this place and have ordered a few times hoping it gets better, but it seems to be getting worse if anything.
Delivery is great - usually less than 30 minutes from order to door, but the food is very average at best.
Every time I have ordered from here the pizza has come with absolutely no sauce on it at all. It's just a greasy cheese on toast with toppings.
I enquired one time as to whether I could order the pizza with extra sauce and was told, and I quote, that 'the chef cannot add extra sauce, it's company policy'. 8}
With the Parkside, Annies and Pizza Company all around two minutes away and offering similar products at lower prices, it is a lazy option to take. Like Kro's they have cornered their part of the market very well (order and delivery for expats) so props to that, but lack of competition means an inferior product.

Good food
I haven't ordered delivery from Gung Ho before, but I have been to their new Lido location and their food is good. The restaurant is cozy and spacious, and I've found the food to be of reliable quality. I've never disliked any pasta I've ordered, and the creativity they put in their pizzas is staggering. Baby squid? Beijing duck?
Food other than their pizza is good as well. The greek salad hit the spot, but it was the cheese bread balls that really brought it home for me. My friends and I actually got an extra order of them to go before leaving. I'm not sure about the bad reviews here, perhaps the Lido location is better than Sanlitun?

Great Delivery Service and Pizza
After reading some bad reviews I had to post how much I enjoy Gung Ho pizza. Their delivery service is brilliant, fast, easy and friendly. I really like the pizza, especially the whole wheat and the addition of the dipping sauce is excellent. The salads are also very good- summer salad is yummy..
Everyone has different taste especially in something like pizza but for me having somewhere that is easy to order from, non greasy pizza and great salads--- it gets 5 stars...

usually good pizza but...
I have ordered from Gung Ho many times and am usually quite happy but the other night we called especially because we saw online that they had added buffalo chicken wings to their menu and they are my favorite food ever so we ordered two pizzas and three orders of wings.
The pizza as always was great, but the wings were terrible, and nothing at all like proper buffalo wings. While the marinade was ok taste and spice wise, it was just a spicy chili marinade, not buffalo sauce. Each box came with a crazy gross amount of oil pooling in the bottom, not sauce, just cold greasy oil. All the wings had really thick slimy skin, I had to pull the skin off to be able to eat them, taking away all the flavor. After eating 2 wings I looked closer and realized that all the pieces still had large hairs and bits of feathers attached. really gross couldn't eat any more after that. Please please fix your wings.
The one good thing about the wings was they did come with a good amount of lovely bleu cheese dressing for dipping.

A solid "meh"
Got delivery twice in the last month or so - first time was a regular pepperoni pizza, second time was a satay chicken. Not enough sauce, crust is nothing to write home about and the pizzas are way too small for the amount of money you pay. The pizzas did arrive quickly and were hot upon arrival, and the ordering process was painless.
However, there are too many good (or even just average) pizza places in the general vicinity for me to show these guys any preference. They do have a lot of gourmet pizzas with unorthodox combinations, if that's your thing, but your average pizza patron is better off elsewhere, in terms of both price and quality.

stay away...
i don't usually order in, because i work in a restaurant,
but yesterday after i read some fake reviews about this pizza place i gave it a try:
- i'm open to new dishes but some really don't go together.
- the guy on the phone didn't understand a bit of what i'm talking about, ( even in chinese )> so when you want to order its the best if you don't like you food special.
- and when i finally got the pizza it wasn't good, i mean for the price. it wasn't cold which is good for a delivery but it was just plane wrong, bad, and not tasty.
stay away from here, its a high price for a bad product.
thank you.

Satay Chicken pizza FTW!
Ordered the satay chicken pizza last night on a whim. Bloody fantastic! I didn't read te menu right so I was surprised to see pineapple there - and even more surprised that it works!! Awesome pizza that definitely satisfies the curry craving. Could be a bit hotter but the sweetness is perfect the morning after a big night.
also, must give a shout out to my old fave, Spinach Pesto Pasta. Love it!

Great gourmet pizza
Pizza is a bit overpriced, but there's a special for about 100 rmb, which includes a small pizza, drinks, and a salad. Salad was amazing (mixed greens, vinegarette) and large. The special makes it worth the money, Good ingredients, and the option of whole wheat crust.
Service was wonderful: the girl repeated our order before placing it, and food came out promptly. I noticed that the delivery men run in and out, and I think they may be timed. Overall a great experience.

Good, but now a bit overpriced?
We love(d) to order from Gung Ho, quick delivery, friendly service, consistent food quality. Their pizzas and pastas are nice, the salads one of the better ones in Beijing in my opinion.
So far Gung Ho has been a regular choice when we did not feel like going out. Then in October, they informed us with a nicely written notice that they will increase their prices this November. Basically nothing wrong with that, as salaries and prices for ingredients and are going up as well.
But surprise surprise, this is not an adjustment for inflation, but 15-20% increase throughout the menu, which I find a bit steep.
We will surely continue to order from Gung Ho every now and then, but less often. With this price adjustment, Gung Ho is competing in a different league now.

Seriously, the crust? Wow
ok, i don't know what these guys have been up to but they are doing a completely new crust that is almost roman but completely awesome. Seriously - this is a very impressive development. toppings are the same - pretty good, not earth shattering, but the crust: wow. Try it - very impressive

Gung not so great, not so gourmet!!!
I have only order from this place once and my experiences are not so great. Everything is over priced for what it is worth. I rather order from the Kro or the pizza company. save me from this travesty!!!

Gung So So...
We ordered some pizzas and salad last night. I was quite flattered that my chinese was way better then the young lady`s english at the other side of the phone, so we worked everything out in a nice chinglish within only 10 minutes of repeating everything 100 times. Maybe give your food numbers or hire people who can speak or at least understand more english, especially if you a trying to sell you food to expats paying for one pie a weeks salary of the delivery guy. The pizza arrived within 40 minutes, which is okay as they are a little far from our place. The pizzas were luke-warm but okay but defintely not gourmet style as propagated at the website of Gung Ho. I think you can get similar pizza at half price in this city. Maybe no beijing duck or sweet potato pizzas, but as a pizza purist I dont need that anyway. The Greek Salad was a bowl of greens with some onions rings, a small handfull of olives and some white cheese kind of thing, some people might refer to as Feta-cheese.
Please do not get me wrong, it was not bad, but based on what I heard and read about the place my expectations were much higher, there is no need for me to leave my pizza joint down the street for Gung Ho.

Good service, acceptable product
I've ordered a few times from Gung Ho now; great service and very hassle free ordering. That alone brings a smile in memory. The pizzas themselves are lacking a bit. It's great to be able to order various types of crust, but the pizza sauce, cheese and other toppings are a bit flavorless. I'd put their pizzas a tad below Annies. Their crust wins, but the overall taste lacks. The Tree is still the best IMO.
Reccomended if you just want a hassle free delivery with an OK pizza. Not recommended if you have great expectations.

A good choice for inexpensive delivery
Having tried many of the Pizza options here in Beijing, I think Gung Ho! is by far the fastest, friendliest, and best tasting of the delivery options. Furthermore, I appreciate that they have no minimum for delivery...because sometimes you don't want food for 5 people, thats why you order in!! In comparison to Annie's, I find Gung Ho to be more flavorful and a better constructed pizza.

Much better than annies
On delivery they beat annies as they listen better english.
The arrive faster too (if your hotel or home is their area of delivery they do ) else annies as no other choice.
But the quality of taste at gungho is surely a shade better and different than annies.
After eaten few tens of annies pizza in beijing gung ho serves a great change in taste.
But nothing beats the ones@ Tree.
I didnt quite like the restaurant seating at all. Lesser said the better. If they build a good restaurant they will beat Kros nest.

pizzas not bad, but tad expensive
So I've tried 3 medium size pizzas so far, all with the whole wheat crust. The thin crust is great, but you'll need to eat it in the restaurant to savour the crunchy texture. If you order delivery then like all other pizzas, they become soggy in the middle.
In terms of the toppings here are my reviews of the three flavours i chose:
1) carnivore - a little salty (not sure whether it was the pepperoni or something else, but something packed a punch (almost like anchovies.. but I couldn't find any). The amount of meat for something that claims to be "carnivore" needs to be increased. There was definitely more cheese than meat. The tomato base needed beefing up as well. I understand that perhaps they were trying to limit it to keep the crust crunchy, but it was kind of lacking in the tomato flavour. I recommend using a thicker concentrate next time.
2) camenbere and chicken with blueberries - mm... quite a nice combination of flavours, yet they were miserly with the camenbere and chicken. seriously... for the price you pay for it, it should have more of what you advertise it to have, rather than a crap load of mozzerela.
3) squid pizza - i asked for more topping this time and got it (finally!). This was an interesting pizza, The bazil they put on it didn't work because it was put on before they stuck it in the oven (therefore turned into tasteless pieces of leaf). I recommend to place the fresh basil leaf on after cooking. This pizza (being seafood based) also requires garlic... something sorely missing that would have made it very tasty.
One last note before I conclude is the service. The delivery service is super quick. Great when you need grub in a hurry. If you eat in the restaurant, then I'd advise to bring ear muffs. The staff seem to be trained in the army or something. The store isn't that big, yet the staff shout out the orders at each other and the delivery men shout their salute when leaving the restaurant (upon which is responded by a equally ear-piercing shout by all the staff as he leaves). It really is quite an odd arrangement to make them holler like that. I guess if it boosts their morale then good-o. Otherwise... they really should consider the patrons in the restaurant who want a quiet-ish meal.
Overall, the pizzas here are ok. They're expensive for what you get, but somehow somewhat tastier than the other pizza's I've tasted in beijing.
Hope this review helps.
