Hooters
Waitresses in short shorts and tank tops squeal with enthusiasm while delivering beer and good American diner fare (i.e. buffalo wings, burgers, quesadillas, jalapeno chili cheese fries etc). Weekly specials and promos, available for private parties, VIP card, merchandise, as well as annual "Miss Hooters of China" event. Beijing's branch features less cleavage than its American counterparts, but the girls make up for it with giddy enthusiasm.

OUR WAITRESS HAD LEPROSY
Never been to one of these establishments before, will never step foot in one again.
As I was there on a jolly I found this place hilariously bad in a Fawlty Towers-esque way. Had I actually had to pay a single bean in this place I would have been SEETHING and INCREDULOUS with RAGE.
Ummm, where to start?
I thought the whole point of the Hooters franchise was to have good looking waitresses with an outgoing personality? Even accounting for the Chinese take on things and the usual Beijing customer relations skills I have to admit I was expecting a little better.
Our waitress had not only fallen out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. The tree must have also beaten her relentlessly with a big stick. She was so badly inept, charmless and lacking in any redeeming qualities at all it was bewildering. One of our party had to wait 30 minutes for a beer, half of the menu was not available, half of the food orders were taken before she buggered off to hover over the cash register scratching her head like an ape for another half hour.
Of about 20 dishes ordered, around 8 turned up. Three people received non of their food at all and they were given the food to take home (we were there for three hours). The prices are obscene given the quality and quantity of the food and the atmosphere is terrible. Apart from a handful of sad and lonely expats propping up the bar, the clientel seems mostly to be made up of ‘business lunches’ which must be the only explanation why this place is still in business. Anyone spending their own cash in this place needs their head checking.
If you must go I recommend sinking several double long Islands to numb the pain. They made the place half bearable, and so they should do at 100rmb a pop!

Chilled beer
Yes the beer served is chilled and as you would want . The service prompt and courteous .
Food -hit or miss ,the potato fries were too dry and the garlic bread had no terrible. The salads were good though.
For the prices they should do better. But still like to go and relax here for the environment and not being too crowded .

Beer's not the only thing that's flat at Hooters
Went for Independence Day and was pleased only in that it reminded me why I don't want to go back to the US; however, US-based Hooters' at least have boastable Budweiser, breasts, and burgers. Chinese-Budweiser is comparably drinkable, but the 飞机场 waitress brought a pitcher of Chinese piss-beer and tried to pass it off as Bud supposing me and mine were negligible tourists. A deft out-chewing evoked a modicum of respect from this worn hag whose years of being legally denied her inner calling to prostitute herself have left her a bitter pinched-faced sourpuss. I wouldn't have noticed her venomous visage had there been something else to stare at on her useless body.
Also, my sturdy friend visiting from Shanghai, a big American Bob, got a run of the runs from the complimentary food-poisoning. If you're thinking of going to Hooters, all I can recommend is to not.

High price with nothing to impress
Burger is ok, but my Mexican food is unbelievable bad. I think I got a diarrhoea that night after ate at there.
The extra service fee is ridiculous in China. For their "short, cheesy, small boobs" Chinese waitress? Nooo. I just forgot they charge this, not because my friend wanted to go there after 3years not been there 2nd time, I definitely won't go back again.
I just really hate restaurant that gives me a feel they want to "make money" from stupid customers, not professionally doing their restaurant business.

AWFUL experience
Food: it was 8 PM on 4th of July and they told us that they had no burgers. I got a quesidilla which had absolutely no cheese in it, so the manager took it back to add more cheese. When he gave it back to me, there was still no cheese in it.
Drinks: they told us that the buy one get one free deal is only applicable to each person. So apparently, if I got a beer and they gave me a second, I'd have to drink it. I've never heard of this kind of buy one get one free deal before in my entire life.
Service: there were only about 3 waitresses working a full house, so I guess it's understandable that they had pretty bad attitudes. But still, Hooters is supposed to be fun and upbeat, and the waitresses were the very opposite.
Conclusion: this place really has nothing going for it.

HORRIBLE PLACE, Bad service and Expensive!
We went to Hooters this past Friday night with friends, and expecting it to be a little expensive and cheesy still imagined we could have a good time. Not the case. After ordering (7 people) we waited about 45 minutes at which time a waitress came to tell us there was no Medium or Hot sauce. At this same time 4 orders arrived at the table which we told them to take back because if the other 3 people who ordered wings couldn't eat we didnt want to eat there. At this point the waitress got very flustered and we asked for the manager, who proceeded to come to our table and yell at us for not cancelling our order sooner--although we had just been told that the 3 other people could not have the things they ordered!
After about 20 minutes of him getting angry and telling us how chinese customer service was so much better than american service we offered to pay our drinks and nachos and leave--since they didn't have 1/2 our order we obviously were not interested in staying, and if they told us upfront wouldn't have ordered at all. Overall a pretty horrible experience, with management and kitchen staff that didnt even know what was on stock in the restaurant--and lets be honest how can HOOTERS run our of buffalo sauce in EVERY VARIATION on a Friday night at 8:00?
I would think twice before going here, I think for any American every aspect will be a disappointment.

Change from regular bars
Its good to have a change from the regular bar experience.
The place is very clean, service quite fine and the drinks quite good.Chicken wings are good.
Yes the place is expensive ,may be they pay the bar girls quite a good salary?
Its a premium place .

Stupid forced "tipping" policy
I agree with the previous review that the prices are rather high.
But the wings are very tasty, and on Wednesday you allowed to purchase 10 wings per person at 2.99 each, which is not a bad deal. Although, frankly, they are probably still making money on the wings, so I think it is just annoying to the customer to arbitrarily limit the number of wings one can eat.
Indeed, this place has mastered the "art" of stupidly annoying their customers.
Sure, in the West, people are used to "tipping" their waiter for "good service." And restaurants are used to underpaying their waiters because of this.
This is CHINA, but Hooters in Beijing still likes underpaying their waiters, so they actually FORCE people to tip!
So, at the end of your lovely meal, get ready for a extra, unwanted surprise on your already too expensive bill. Just perfect for making people leave Hooters feeling angry, cheated and vowing never to return.
But at least THAT extra charge is listed on the menu (in small print), and some customers might still accept it. So Hooters has another little trick to make sure that EVERYONE leaves feeling cheated:
They also force you to pay the 10% service charge on items which they advertise as "FREE!"
So, for example, the Happy Hour "Buy 1, get 1 free" promotion is false: Buy 1, pay 10% extra on it, then get another beer for 10% more. Just 10%--what's the big deal? Yeah, exactly!
Why make your customers feel angry and cheated for a lousy 10% extra on a beer which you said was "FREE"?
What I cannot understand (and I'd love someone to explain this to me, please!) is why Hooters cannot simply pay their waiters whatever they are worth. And then charge their customers whatever they feel they need to, clearly listing the prices on their menus???
And if they cannot afford to offer wings for 2.99, or 2 for 1 beers, then just don't offer them!
Don't pretend to offer something, but then find some clever way to claw it back from the customer later.
If Hooters cannot simply pay a fair salary, charge a fair price, and make it clear to their customers, then they deserve to fail.
Which is a pity, because their wings are actually pretty good.

Not good enough: Wings, Girls, Atmosphere
Straight up, we went here recently and didn't have a good experience.
The wings are not prepared correctly. I have made wings myself many times and I can tell you this place is blowing the sauce. I wouldn't order the wings here again, and basically its 1 of only 2 reasons to go here.
Reason 2, the girls...sorry everyone, but there isn't a single hooter combined between all the staff here. That's just false advertising. Hate me if you want but that's part of what what hooters is all about. I wanted to see some good looking waitresses and they didn't have any.
Overall atmosphere was not even enough to keep me interested in hanging out here.
Wouldn't go back unless I was dragged in.

Waste
Girls are too young and to small to look good. Doing funny dances. Overprized drinks and food. That's it

Don't buy the nachos!
Nasty, fried chips (NOT tortillas!) with some spray-on cheese, one sliced jalapeno and a sprinkling of meat-like substance.
Had lots of fun here before, last night was a downer. Shanghai Hooters is infinitely better.
Last night the waitress was surley and basically ignored me. It took 10 minutes to get a beer sent over, even though I was sitting right next to the damn beer-on-tap machine.
What's more, couldn't get a good table because the tables near the windows were reserved. WTF- who reserves a tables at Hooters???
....
The other food that was ordered was pretty ordinary too. I make better burgers at home. Tried the Texas chicken sandwich or whatever it's called and it was fine, I guess... a slab of KFC on a dry bun with cold curly fried around it. Ah, yeah.....
Won't be goin' back for a loooooong time.

...per person...
So I was at Hooters at Thanksgiving, just because:
1. I've never been there
2. They had food at a 50% discount
As their ad on the web said, it was only applicable for food over 120 Kuai. So far, so good, we were 3 people and this should not have been a problem. We specifically asked our waitres ("Elaine") and there was no problem with this. Food was OK - good, Wings were really good. Their price tag on a coke seems to b really hefty, but you get something like 0,75l or even more. OK, so we wanna pay and we don't get the discount, because all of a sudden it's 120 Kuai...per person...WTF? So we ask for the store manager, he comes to our table and we explain that in the ad it doesn't say per person. He stays very clam and friendly and says he needs to check that. 5 minutes later we get the discounted bill. Fine service, thumbs up for that. One thing I didn't like at all: 10% service charge is only readable on the very bottom of the menu, none of us saw it. All in all: Overpriced if there is no discount, otherwiese: Go for it, nice exception to the normal chinese food.

Beer isnt cheap nor are the burgers, but still I like this place a lot. The girls are sweet and try to please you and they are trained not to say MAYO ,the word you hear in most bars and restaruants and any supermarkets.

Not worth the wings....
This past Wednesday evening, a few of my friends (both local and ex-pats) decided to check out Hooters 1.99RMB Chicken Wing night. Now, I'm from the U.S. (New York City, to be exact), and I wouldn't even remotely consider myself a fan of Hooters. However, I have gone from time to time for their wings. With a name like theirs, it's clearly obvious they're not focusing on quality gourmet food. At best (even in the U.S.), I would consider Hooters food to be mediocre. However, I do like their chicken wings. It's probably the only saving grace in the Hooter's somewhat average menu. So, when a friend mentioned that Wednesday night was 2 Kuai Wing Night, I was ready to feast!!
However, Hooters had a different idea in mind. First, the 2 RMB wings offer was only limited to 10 wings per customer. Looking at their ads in the bathroom and on the table top, you would never know it. The fine print is ridiculously small and barely legible. While I'm was a bit overly emotional about this, my friends agreed, at least they did write it down. So rather than ordering the feast we had in mind, we limited ourselves to 10 wings each. This was a disappointment, but not a deal breaker.
My major issue was with the service. From the very beginning, it was a struggle to get our order in. Our waitress came over to take our order. Before we knew about the 10 wing limit, we began to order our wings. She was quick to tell us that we could only get 5 wings per customer. Then when we were finally able to decipher the notice that said 10, she still wouldn't let us order more than 5 per customers. At that point, we asked to speak with the managers (yeah, New Yorkers can be sooo obnoxious that way). After a few minutes, she came back and said it was ok to order 10 per customer.
Now, if you've never been to Hooters, they offer two type of wings (breaded and naked) and 6 types of sauces. Since there were only 5 of us, we got 50 wings. Also since our local friends never had these wings before we thought it'd be fun to try a little bit in different sauces. So we asked for 10 wings in each type of sauce (we skipped one). BEFORE this decision was already made, our waitress has already determined that we'll have 25 wings breaded and 25 wings naked. When we told her what we wanted, she first told us that, it was impossible to order like that. (She actually said the word "impossible"). After about 3 minutes of trying to get her to agree to our order, we again asked for the manager. Another several minutes passed by and she returned and said it was ok to order the way we wanted it. (Whew!). But you can clearly see, that by this time, she was not a happy server. I guess we were getting to be too much "mafan" (trouble) for her.
Finally the wings arrived and we were able to eat. But by this time, none of us were in the carefree jovial mood that we arrived in. We weren't too upset, but we just didn't feel like hanging around there. What also surprised me was that the manager never came over to see what was wrong. The restaurant barely had 15 people in it (we counted). And during our conversation with our waitress, we caused a bit of a stir. You would think that if a table was a bit unhappy and asked to see the manager TWICE, just out of sheer curiosity, someone would come by to see what was going on. Guess not.
What was funny was when we were arguing for our order, our waitress just flatly looked at the male of our group and coyly asked "why are you complaining to me? I'm only a part time worker here". But I don't think she realized that in some places, customers actually like to order food the way they want it, not however is convenient for the waitress.

Not what you'd expect but still good
I've been to a Hooters in the USA before and the one in China View has many of the same elements that make Hooters an enjoyable experience. Deep fried food that tastes decent, beers, friendly service, good service, American decor, more beers, etc.
There is only one element missing, the jugs (not talking about beer).
But hey, it's more family style and is a good place to have a beer and a man meal with a few mates.
Maybe to be in line with the name they need to keep some live owls in the bar, ala Lois Griffin in the supermarket.

Family Owl Restaurant
I have heard this place called Tweeters in reference to the non-buxomness of the ladies working there.
But I think that is missing the point. You should pay more attention to the Chinese name of "Family Owl Restaurant" and you will get a better idea of what they're innocently aiming for.
I am quite a big deal (I have many leather bound books) and therefore attended the VIP opening back in the day.
Maybe it was the imitation sparkling wine, or maybe it was getting a signed picture from Miss USA but from that day on I have a soft spot for this Sanlitun misfit and have been back a couple of times.
There's definitely a right and a wrong time for Hooters. Worth a look for 1-2 drinks and deep fried snacks with your pals for instance. I guarantee whatever song they awkwardly dance to will be stuck in your head for a day or two afterwards.

Good wings
Hooters in China has the same atmosphere as the US but some things are a bit different. The wings are a great treat on occasion. The beers are expensive but they didn't seem to have a problem when we brought some in from downstairs. The waitresses are nice. Check it out if you're craving some American food
