Hummingbird has a range of therapeutic massages starting at RMB 150-225, and also offers facials, waxing and manicures.
It's really nice and cozy place! Feel relaxed. You can tell they use good quality oil and cream, massagists are quite professional too...Will definitely go again!
Relaxing massage and not crazily priced considering where it is situated.
Decent in my book
I don't go to this Hummingbird much now that they've opened up their new location. Since it's still in Central Park it doesn't make much difference to me anyway, but I go to the new one since it's bigger. The original "Hummingbird Therapeutic Retreat" is still good for the money - the masseuses know what they're doing and the staff speak english well. It's very western... good quality service, clean, relaxing. Brought my mom here, she raves about the lemongrass oil massage.
I'm not a massage expert. Something about paying someone a stupid amount of money just to poke at me. My mother loves them, however, and we went in together on a friend's recommendation. Price-wise, they're reasonable and don't gouge too much. Expat prices, but also expat-style service.
Head/foot massages are given in a four-person communal room, which is a bit hmm. Other inhabitants got a bit huffy about my mother speaking (softly) to her masseuse - irritating. My masseur was nice, with decent strength, but his right hand was decidedly heavier than his left. Upon being asked why this was, he said his left hand was hurt. This seems a bit off.
In any case, unlikely to return.
Hummingbird is my favorite Spa in Beijing, it is cozy, clean and quiet, always fall in sleep during the massage, very relaxing...well-trainned massagists, and nice servise with reasonable price!
