Mughal's Beijing
Friendly staff serve up authentic Mughal style Indian and Pakistani tandoori and curry dishes in this nicely decorated restaurant in Sanlitun's Nali Patio. Their tikka masalas are especially worth trying. Also offers weekdays set lunch (RMB 45, 11.30am-2.30pm) and summertime terrace seating. Voted "Outstanding Indian/Pakistani" in the Beijinger's 2010 Reader Restaurant Awards.

Great value and friendly staff
I'm a regular visitor to Mughal's and, despite it being a little rough around the edges at times, it never fails to deliver good value curries and decent Naan. In my opinion, competitors such as Ganges, Indian Kitchen and Mirch Masala never seem to get it quite right and if you're not willing to pay sky-high prices for top-end places like Taj, then Mughal's is your best bet -- and the beers are cheap too!

Eat like a Maharaja
Being sort of a newcomer in the Beijing indian/pakistani food scene (about 2 years on the belt?), Mughal's definitely lives up to its title for outstanding indian/pakistani restaurant award. Speaking as someone who has had indian food all my life, food at mughal's is pretty authentic with a dash of uniqueness to its flavor. Service is very good and no doubt, the manager makes us feel welcomed and is always attentive and we all know how hard it is to come by good service in Beijing! Best of all, you could order the level of spiciness to your liking so its absolutely great for those of us who fancies 'real, hot' curry! The panner, masala, curry and lassi at mughal's is a must try!

Nice for a Date
Definitely agree that this is a tasty place with very friendly waitstaff. The food is in part delicious because it is made fresh, but then it may take some time, but in this kind of ambiance you dont mind, especially if you are on a romantic date. Really perfect for a date. Slip away to this aloft restaurant and get some food and then go next door to the Village Cinema for a movie. Just make sure you have some wiggle time in between.

Good Indian food in a nice atmosphere
Good Indian food in a nice atmosphere. Staff here are super friendly and the manager was always present making sure things were going smoothly. Really enjoyed the cheese nan. I think the portions are a bit smaller than what I get at Ganges though, and for a comparable if not higher price. Nonetheless the food was really tasty so definitely worth checking out.

Nice Service
The lunch buffet is pretty delicious, but what I like about here the most is the service. They're friendly, speak great English. They're knowledgeable and can explain to you what the dishes are and can handle modifications to a dish. (Every time I ask a waiter in China to not put in bacon, or to place dressing on the side, or some other simple request like that, they look at me like I've asked for the moon)We stuck around quite late, until around 3pm and the manager was nice enough to come over and to check if we were finished eating so they could could clear the buffet. I can really appreciate little things like that.

Superb Curry Platter
Introduced by a friend, went Mughal's yesterday for dinner.
The manager was very welcoming and made us feel instantly comfortable. We took a window seat and ordered a starter (Cheese Samosa) and the curry platter (5 curries). Samosa were perfectly made with a very nice flavor that left a zingy after taste on your pallete. Curry Platter about 6 dishes accompanied by Naan bread and a portion of rice. The dishes ranged from chick peas to curried vegetables to Chicken buna and a spicy Lamb Curry. The food tasted extremely fresh with each dish having it's own signature notes of flavor. I really enjoyed my visit to the Mughal's, the food was excellent and the manager is friendly and approachable. This is one restaurant not to miss.

An okay place.
Had dinner at Mughal, we ordered butter chicken, vege curry, garlic naan and saffron rice. The naan was like any other naan in Beijing. Average.
While my friend was munching the veg curry, she bit on something hard and it was a small piece or porcelain. We checked the curry and found another piece. We called the waiter, she apologised and replaced our curry with something slightly different.. it tasted better than the previous curry. So no complaint on that!
On the way out, the owner apologised to us and explain how pieces of porcelain ended up in our meal. Then he 'compensate' our not so good experience with a gift voucher. The overall service was average, quite forgettable.

Great lunch buffet
I randomly came here one day to check our their lunch buffet. For 45 RMB, it really is such a good deal...endless naan, rice, curries, salads, etc...and considering it was a "buffet" the food didn't lack in quality either. But what turned this restaurant into a favorite for me was the staff. Unless you go to a really nice restaurant in Beijing, rarely do you ever get greeted with a warm hello and smile. At Mughal's...they smile and are happy to help!!

Curry and Naan that can't be beat
Last week I was in the Sanlitun area on the way to the airport. I hadn’t eaten lunch and a friend suggested grabbing a burrito for the plane. Having been to the Side Saddle before, I was in the mood for something a bit different. Around the corner was Mughal’s and their sign said “We deliver.” I figured, well if they deliver then they surely do carry out as well.
Up to the fourth floor I went, marched in and demanded a lamb curry, naan, and something with spinach and cheese cubes be prepared for carryout asap. The wait was fairly long and I was getting irritated when I realized that normally the wait is a good sign. They were making my order instead of just preheating it like McDonalds does. When my order came out it I quickly paid and ran off to catch the light rail to the airport. At this point I was sure I was going to miss the flight. Long story short, I was starving so I ended up eating the Indian food on the train. It could have been the best food I have ever eaten! Yes, perhaps it was because I was starving but honestly, I don’t think I have ever eaten a curry naan combination that tasted so good. By the time I arrived at terminal 3 I had all but ploughed through the curry and half of the spinach dish.
I returned yesterday and the first restaurant I went to was.. you guessed it, Mughal’s. This time I was accompanied by my girlfriend. I ordered the exact same dishes and the lamb curry was as sumptuous as I remembered it to be. I tried their garlic naan which, for garlic lovers, is a real step up in flavor.
Both of us very much enjoyed the restaurant, the service, and especially the food.

I thought it was great!
It's nice to get away from the same old fried food. The food is always fresh, always amazing and the service is great. I wish it was cheaper (I can get food around the corner fo SOO cheap but it's pure crap... but it's SOO cheap).
Anyway, The food is great here. I would list my fav dishes but thay have all been good and I don't remember what they are called. I would say that the portions aren't huge but 2 dishes with rice or bread is plenty for 2 very hungry people.
It's nice to have some healthy/fresh food that is still full of flavor.
I should note that they are closed for a couple of hours between lunch and dinner (I think 2-5pm but don't take my word for it. I have not made it yet to lunch but I hear it's the best deal

The Great Mughal
Living in the UK,I often keep frequenting China & Beijing in particular.Being a devot muslim and very strict about halal food,I have always had reservations about the so-called HALAL Indian restaurants. Thanks to the management of the Mughal my problem has been solved in as much as a halal muslim eatery in form of Mughal with their excellent food is there.
Great food,keep it up Mughal.

Shiny Curry crazy people
I am a huge fan of Indian food, but I am weary of some Indian restaurants. My first exposure to Indian cuisine was my best friend's mother's cooking and she was a damn good cook, so I compare everybody's cooking to hers.
Anyway, I hang out in Sanlitun a lot at night, and this place is crowded every time so I could tell that they got some good food here. I finally booked a reservation with my best friend to eat here and the food did not disappoint.
Both my friend and I are curry crazy, so we were really happy that the restaurant offered curries with such diverse tastes. I know it’s been said before, but each curry tastes different here.
I ordered just one lamb curry and it was so delicious and flavorful that I couldn't even finish it, no matter how much I wanted to. It came with garlic nan that was so good, I want to steal the recipe but I dont think the cook would give it to me.
Curry crazy people go here!

Taught me what Indian Food is...
This place is pretty yummy. I feel like this was the restaurant that taught me what Indian Food is supposed to taste like. The food was very flavorful and spicy. Loved their Mango Lassi!
It's a little on the difficult to find side, but if you'd like some really good indian food, at a reasonable price, this is the spot.

A very good indian restaurant
I like Mughals for three reasons: the manager or his wife are always in the restaurant (it's a family restaurant), the food is very good, and lastly they use less oil so I feel 'lighter' after eating there.
If you like Indian food then you like curry and if you like curry then you'll like Mughal’s. I’m partial to the lamb curry because it has a richer meat taste than the others. Nan is absolutely essential to mop up the amazing sauce left over. The biryani (sp) rice has an incredible aroma and taste. I don’t like lassi but their tea is nice. What I like most about the food is that it is authentic in taste but lacking in the copious amounts of oil usually found in Indian food. MSG doesn’t effect me like I have heard it does others but I pretty sure it’s not good for you so I’m happy that Indian doesn’t use MSG. In other words, it's Indian fare for the health conscious. No I can eat my favorite curries relatively guilt free.

Love the curry, rooftop
There are plenty of Indian choices here in Beijing (as demonstrated by the adverts on every Beijing English language website) but for me Mughals will always be my first choice. That’s not to say that I don’t like some of the others, just that I think as an overall package, Mughals is the best. First, I am convinced that their curry would beat any other in a side by side taste test. Each curry tastes different as it should. The only example I can think of is the difference, or lack thereof, between kungpao chicken and kungpao shrimp. The sauce tastes the exact same in both but it wouldn’t if the chicken or shrimp were cooked along with the sauce (instead of making batches of sauce and adding the meat as a last step.). When I order lamb I want lamb, and when I want fiery lamb vindaloo, I want spicy lamb vindaloo not spicy chicken vindaloo with “Chinese characteristics.”
Second, unlike much of Indian cuisine, Mughal’s has cut down on the oil. I get enough oil in China without getting it again in my Indian food.
Third, I like the new location on the roof of Nali Patio. It’s autumn and the time of the year for me to spend those remaining weeks outside before the harsh weather arrives. The roof of Nali Patio is the perfect place. They also have seating outside but under roof as well as indoors.
My personal recommendations: samosas to get warmed up, lamb vindaloo for spice, garlic nan bread to dip in the sauce, mango lassis to cut the spice, and papaya kulfi dessert to finish the meal.

Worth trying...
A small cozy restaurant. Their lamb buna and Samoosa are worth trying. The nan breads also nice & crispy.

Great deal, tasty food!
Went to Mughals for lunch today and had a great lunch, don't remember the name of the dishes but they had about 10 dishes, ranging from some salads to curry and several meat dishes. The samosas were very good, and the nan is made when you get there so it is very fresh and warm. All the food was very tasty. If you like spicy certain dishes here have a lot of kick to it. Whats even better is that now the lunch buffet is buy one get one free. So 2 people can eat for 45rmb!

RE: Fake Reviews
I think it is not fair to said it was fake review by others when every individual has its own unique taste, I tried Rumi and I did not like it at all, neither did my 3 other friends, and I tried Mughal, and they like it and think that the bosses and waiters are friendly enough.
I think such strong negative review is fake by itself and most probably created by Mughal's competitor and feel sorry for such loser.
There are something to be improved by Mughal I reckon, like the decor and the smell in the restaurant, and also more varieties of food like Bryani lamb should be included in the menu, other than that, they are doing alright.
