The king of the rooftops

Summer is rooftop season in Beijing. There are a bunch of places that win praise for their brilliant rooftops. However Nuage doesn't get much of a mention and is spectacular. Overlooking Houhai, but not right on the lake so not noisy this place seems like an escape to a simpler time. The food is very nice and the drinks are cold. Also its never crowded so a perfect place to enjoy the nice weather have an intimate dinner.

Great place for a date!

Top Vietnamese Cuisine

If you like Asian food in general, then it's hard not to be a fan of Vietnamese cuisine. Typified by fragrance, freshness, and intense natural flavors, dishes are almost without exception wholesome, healthy, and surprisingly memorable. As a champion of the fare in Beijing, Nuage has for many years been the refuge of lovers of the cuisine in the Chinese capital, and they are rarely disappointed. Combine the fine menu with an historic property with a perfect view of the Houhai lake, and you have all you need for a very romantic night out.

Hou Hai's Best

If you like Vietnamese, you have to give it a try.

I did the roof top dining thing and it was awesome with a nice view of the Hou Hai area. The food was awesome.

The only problem was that the waitresses were more interested in the football match on TV than they were in serving my table. It is also a bit pricey but what do you expect in that location.

I would recommend this place if you are going out with your family or on a date. Not a place for a bunch of guys to get together and hang out.

Lake view and really nice food

When money is not the problem, perfect.
Rice is very soft and I think it's their style. Food is made delicate very much and I like that. We didn't have a chance to pick to site in the wheels but we were close to the window to see the lake.
Dim light ,very romantic feeling that you can bring. It's the best place for dating I would say though four men are still happy because we worked too hard and need to have great food and beer before a very nearby bar trip.
Keep the good things going!

This place has a very nice location. The decor & environment are very comforting. Very romantic lakeside view. Wait staff are patient and attentive. Good place to take your date and have a calming walk after dinner.

Beijing's Best Rooftop Dining?

This place gets a bit of stick, but I've had a couple of really memorable evenings here. The food is usually good (though towards the expensive end) but this is justified in the romantic setting - the dining room is handsomely decked out (some tables even have kitschy Vietnamese 'cyclo' seats) and the roof terrace can claim some of the best views in town, with the Drum and Bell Towers to the north, and Qianhai to the south, with Jingshan Park's pagoda clearly visible beyond. They're even touting it as a place to watch the October fireworks, so that's something I'll consider.

Good food and great waitstaff

The atmosphere is that of a french bistro, well appointed and striking. The food is decent although I would liken it to more pan south east asian than authentic vietnamese. The waitstaff all seem to be foreign, some speaking english, french, and vietnamese with perfect accents.
