I sat down at 13:55, the only person in the bar, and ordered a regular beef burger and a coke. The beef arrived at 13:35, exactly (I looked the watch). This is, forty minutes after I ordered it. And I repeat: I was the only person in the bar during all the time. I guess the 2 girls running the place were too busy feeding the dog, cleaning the sink, chatting by QQ or watching TV on the large screen. I really can not understand how it can take so long to cook one single burger. I don't want to imagine what it must be like to eat there when there are two or three full tables, let alone if the place happens to be full.

This said, the burger arrived, and it was OK. Nothing very special, but a good one. Only two buts, big one in my point of view. The first one is the lack of fries, which I am aware are not mandatory but are included for free in many burger joints. The second one is the temperature the burger was served in: it was the hottest peace of meat I've ever tasted, producing a bigger amount of smoke than a burning cigarette. Taking into consideration I was starving after nearly 3/4 hour of waiting, I burned my mouth when I ate it, no matter how hard I blew on it.

Conclusion: for that money I can get a burger of the same quality with some fries and served in a quarter of an hour. I won't come back here.

It seems the penalty is over and this is now just called "The Box" and instead of all the hockey and Canadian kichey stuff, it appears to be what someone thinks a 12 year old North American girls bedroom should look like. I assume it is under new management, which is too bad....I used to like to come here. I went last night for a Saturday night beer and a burger. The young lady working the counter, the phone, the computer, her hair in the mirror and the grill didn't know what "well done" meant, which is only slightly worrying. More worrisome was that she seemingly also didn't know what soap and water were for either. After repeatedly watching her go from the cooking area to the computer for her QQ chat to her phone and not washing her hands once and having her hands all over the food, I just asked for the bill and walked out without even seeing if it was cooked.

I have been here a long time and I know most places don't have the same hygiene that we have in North America....but if you have an "open kitchen" concept in your restaurant, you'd better train the cooks to wash their hands!!

Oh well, no need to go back to this place now. RIP "Penalty Box"....I am sure "The Box" will be right behind you.
