Xiao Xin's Cafe 小新的店
Xiao Xin, former mainstay of Nali and cake-maker extraordinaire, now holds court in his own places on Nanluogu Xiang and Wudaoying Hutong. Besides the chill atmosphere and welcoming staff, the big draws are his cheesecakes and other assorted pastries (most between RMB 10 and 20), which Xiao Xin makes himself. A cup of coffee, a slice of cake, and a seat by the window ... and don't forget the wireless internet!

Review of Xiao Xin's Cafe
We went to Xiao Xin's Cafe recently to try their cakes. It's not easy to find really good cakes in Beijing, and we hoped that Xiao Xin would be give us what we long craved for...But no! The cakes we ordered were dry, and had a strange taste to it. Definitely not worth the calories!
After the cakes, we ordered Irish coffees. I must say: you get good Irish coffee for just 25 RMB. With fresh whipped cream!
One last note: the decoration of the place is very homely and cute, but a bit cramped. If you don't like cigarette smoke you might want to avoid the place.

Review of Xiao Xin's Cafe
The Nanluoguxiang area has a lot of churn, and cafés are a dime a dozen here, but for some reason, I always end up going back to Xiao Xin's Cafe (小新的店).
The sandwiches are extremely tasty, the selection of beverages is impressive and delicious, and the environment is quite comfortable to spend hours reading a book, chatting with friends, or working away on your laptop computer.
Pros: great food, good drinks, comfortable atmosphere, average nlgx prices.
Cons: the front room can be pretty smoky, the coffee tends to be pretty bitter (Illy brand), and it's impossible to get a seat on the weekends.
