This popular Yayuncun Sichuan restaurant is known as much for its lip-smackingly spicy dishes as it is for its regular celebrity clientele (i.e. director Feng Xiaogang). Signature dishes include its xie huang doufu (tofu with crab roe), paojiao niu wa (bullfrog with pickled spices) and excellent shuizhu yu (spicy boiled fish - go for the carp). The smoky interior is a bit dated, but refreshingly unpretentious and the food (according to Sichuan natives) is among the most authentic in Beijing.
