Frost Coffee, Nails and Cocktails

Besides professional cuticle care, what do you want from a nail salon? If your answer is “Cocktails, coffee and pizza,” you’ll love Frost, which accommodates a bar and a few tables in addition to the armchairs on which you can have your nails looked after. Besides offering a wide range of nail treatments, Frost offers many other services, including facials, tanning, weight loss program, herbal face and breast lifts. The adjoining cafe/cocktail bar offers small refreshments to accompany your pampering. A tasteful beer selection includes Belgian beers and American craft brews. Try the coffee-tinged Old No. 38 Stout, or drink San Miguel if you’re on a budget. The cocktail list favors sweeter drinks like the Appletini and Chocolate Martini, with the signature Frosty Nails delivering a rush of melon, coconut and pineapple, disguising a well-liquored base. If you’re peckish, there are cupcakes from Lollipop Bakery, and Gung Ho! deliveries are just a phone call away.

Maybe best burger I have had in Beijing

Title says it all. I am a man so I don't pay money for people to paint my toenails so I can't comment on anything other than the burgers which are pretty good. They are a little small but it isn't too expensive so I go there a decent amount. I definitely wouldn't say the owners seem friendly, but one of them is a hot Chinese lady so hard to complain. Never got a drink there because they are expensive and I usually just get a burger after working out. 10 times better than blue frog.

    Best burgers ever!

Was there last week and had their Frosty Island Tea. While I could comment on the fact it took 10 minutes to make when there were no other customers, I will focus instead on the drink. I was very disappointed by the fact that I paid 55 kuai for a minimal amount of drink with even less alcohol.

I get that the point of a good cocktail is that you do not taste the alcohol. But when you are getting a martini size glass which is half full and you still cannot taste any of the liquor that is supposed to be in it, can you justify paying 55 kuai?

If I was at Apothecary or Xiu, then 55 kuai might be acceptable (but would still be much stronger), but to skimp out on the alcohol while charging a premium on a side street with cheap furniture was too much for me.

Will most definitely not be going back.

    Worst service and revolting owner

I took my mom to Frost recently for a pedicure, looking for a new place to make my regular after the place I usually go to once a week put their prices up too much. We arrived and told the staff that we wanted 2 pedicures and the staff told us it would be 5 minutes unless one of us wanted to go in first. We told them we want to get them done together rather than leave one of us waiting outside for the other to finish.

They told us to sit and wait and directed us to a table, they them put 2 menus in front of us so we ordered 2 iced coffees. We waited and waited and after about 15 minutes I asked when we could go in, the waitress told us that one person could go in now, I AGAIN told her that it would be pointless and we want to get them at the same time, she told us “ok, 5 minutes”.

We continued to wait, having long ago finished our drinks. Sometime during our wait a big fat white guy came in and sat at one of the tables in the café area, he then took off his sweat-drenched shirt so we got a great view of his huge white naked torso them put on a fresh shirt.

At the 30 minute mark I asked the waitress when we could get our pedicures and she said “hmm, ok, maybe ten minutes”. I was furious at this point and started to ask her why she told us 5 minutes twice if we would have to wait a half an hour, I was polite but firm and several of the staff (there were at least 6 waitresses standing around doing nothing) came over to tell us “sorry, just 5 minutes”. As all this was going on the white guy got up and wandered behind the bar to talk to the staff about cranberry juice, I realized that he must be the boss.

Despite all of the strong words and me being obviously upset the guy said and did nothing, eventually a Chinese woman who spoke English came out and apologized and said “we thought you would go in separate, so we told you only 5 minutes”. I reiterated my complaint that I told them in the beginning, and 3 times after that that we wanted to go in together.

We were trying to leave at this point and the waitress thrust the bill for the drinks in our face. 65 kuai for 2 beverages which we only ordered to sip while we got our pedicures.

As I was paying the bill, the white guy glanced up at me nonplussed and I asked “Is this your place?” he said yes and I said “well the service has been terrible” and he looked me and my elderly mother over then said in a very sarcastic tone, “well, BYE!”

D*ck. 65RMB for 2 drinks we didn’t want but ordered out of politeness and to pass the time and after being lied to by the staff and after waiting half an hour for a service we never received the revolting owner had the nerve to essentially tell us to fu*k off. Forget this place. The owner should have apologised and comped the beverages, that's what customer service is about.
