If you've ever wandered out to the end of Lotus Lane on Houhai, looked across the lotus pond, and wondered what the hell all that fancy Chinese architecture was doing there, here's your answer: it's a bar. Actually, only half of it's a bar (the other half is Xiao Wang's Home, a restaurant that hosts heads of state and corporations, serving only one table a day with a minimum fee of RMB 20,000 - but that's beside the point), one which affords an aristocratic point of view on the rest of the lake.
