The Beijing Hikers Club has been organizing hikes in the hills around Beijing every weekend since 2001. Regular hikes cost RMB 250 per person (RMB 150 for children under 12, certain hikes only), the price covers round-trip transportation, water, professional guides, and post-hike snacks and drinks. The hikes vary in difficulty, but are for the most part fine for casual hikers. Difficulty of hikes is rated from 1 to 5 – Level 1 is the easiest, Level 5 is most difficult.
