Don’t expect the traditional Chinese teahouse design of Green T. House’s old Sanlitun place, the new teahouse is like a Stanley Kubrik film set with a twist of Empress Ci Xi’s imperial audience hall. As you enter each room, you may feel like Alice after she fell down the rabbit hole, each room a journey into a different world – a salon, an art library, a gallery and a champagne bar and open kitchen. Which pill will you take, Alice? We took the main room, a great white space of mirrors, candles, fairy light constellations, glass bowls and chairs with backs so high, you need to blink or by optical illusion, they look like they’re touching the ceiling. The brainchild of stylemeister Jin R, Geen T. has a menu that lists its internationally renowned sponsors and contributing international chefs, alongside it’s fusion dishes and range of teas (RMB 48-80). Each delicious dish contains tea, that much loved bush hasn’t appeared so pretentious since British toffs sipped it in their parlours a hundred years ago, or was that yesterday? At Green T. House, join the rich and fabulous at their favourite game, creating an illusion of supping and sipping style, then wallowing in it. Nov 02
Like Alice stepping into the Mad Hatter's Chinoiserie tea party. Voted "Best to Impress Visitors" in our 2007 Reader Restaurant Awards. Tea-infused fusion cuisine served in an impressively fanciful atmosphere. Contemporary Cuisine
