Join us for a lively and informative discussion on the challenges and opportunities that face youth in Beijing. This event does not hope to generalise but more to better understand millenials coming of ages as China comes into power.
Our presenters will touch upon the range of different ideals that young Chinese people aspire towards, the context in which the 1990s generation have grown up in and present future pathways for young people wanting to establish themselves in this fast-changing environment.
Speakers
Alec Ash: a writer, journalist in Beijing, author of Wish Lanterns-Young Lives in New China. A book that follows the lives of 6 Chinese youth born between 1985-1990 from their childhood to their coming of age. Contributor to the Economist, Prospect, BBC, he is also the Founder of The Anthill a colony of Beijing writers.
Wen Li: Lived,worked in SE Asia, China, Europe and the US. Bridging the gap between Western and Chinese technology business. To empower the youth of today, she is the Founder of Woman Entrepreneurs, an organisation designed to nurture the future business leaders of China.
