This festive season, The Bookworm wants to highlight the amazing work of NGOs and charities based in China. With this in mind, we are proud to welcome the founders of three amazing NGOs, all of which help to improve the lives of those in need. We invite you to join us for a panel discussion, where we'll learn how NGOs operate in China, hear about the difficulties they face and find out how they raise money and awareness.

Our panelists: Andrew Shirman from Education In Sight, an NGO solving education inequality in the countryside by providing glasses to nearsighted students; Ching Tien, from Educating Girls of Rural China, which helps young women from rural areas of Western China to obtain an education; and Helen Boyle, from the Migrant Children’s Foundation (MCF), which aims to enrich the lives of disadvantaged children across China. The discussion will be moderated by Canadian businesswoman Laurie O’Donnell.
