Beijing International Society (BIS) is presenting a panel discussion on the topic of Christian experience in China in the Embassy of Ireland on Thursday, December 8, starting at 7:30 PM.

Since opening up in the late 1970s China has not only experienced the light speed development of its economy and urbanization, but also a flourishing growth in religious faith practices among Chinese people, both young and old. This panel will take a look at the Christian faith practice in China, how it has exploded in growth over the last few decades and where it seems to be headed in the future. The panel will be moderated by Pulitzer Prize winning author and religion expert, Ian Johnson. Panelists will include three Christian religious leaders in Beijing who can offer firsthand experience in witnessing the development of faith in China: Father Shang Tian Lu, Reverend Chris Branstetter and Reverend Hannah Cornthwaite.
