Beijing’s first-ever International Premium Beer Festival is this weekend and we can hardly contain ourselves. HOPS is hosting the three-day festival, which will be held at the stunning MGM Beach (formerly Uper+) from July 1-3. To top it off, some of Beijing’s best musicians, DJs, entertainers and dancers will be scheduled to perform throughout the event.

This isn't just any beer festival. There will be a mind-boggling 80 types of premium global beers - from Belgium, Italy, Germany, England, America and Japan - to knock back on and enjoy during the event. There will be so much beer! And, of course, there will also be plenty of mouthwatering international foods on offer to pair with your beers. Savoury or sweet, mild or spicy, you’re bound to find the perfect pairing for your beer from the vendors.

Meet the Brewers

On July 2 and 3, select brewers have been invited to give a brand introduction and a Q&A with customers:

The Bands

Friday July 1st - The Paper Tigers are Beijing’s “hottest new indie rock band,” and they are taking China by storm. With an explosive and “danceable” sound reminiscent of The Clash and The Cure meets Block Party and The Artic Monkeys, the band’s original new music is the creation of experienced and successful musicians from four continents. Hailing from China, the US, Europe and Australia, the band was forged in Beijing’s underground scene in 2015.

Saturday July 2nd - The Hunters feat. MIRS are one of Beijing’s best foreign cover bands and their talent on stage will blow you away. This explosive five-piece continues to receive the accolades of the music scene by combing old school Funk, Soul, and Rock classics with modern hits, all mixed and served in an intoxicating and action packed delivery.

Sunday July 3rd - Disaster Chat is one of Beijing’s best original bands on the scene today. Fresh pop sounds mixed with ambient rock melodies and cranking breakdowns marks the pleasantries any ears will experience when indulging in some DC bliss. Their mix of Chinese and English tunes creates the perfect atmosphere for today’s China rock audience and they never leave their fans disappointed. If you are looking for a something other than Beijing's endless sea of cover bands then Disaster Chat is the band for you.

July 1-3 - SiYa Dancing Tribe

In Beijing, there is a dancing tribe. The creator brought back a new style of dancing from America, called "American tribal style" (ATS). It is totally different from the traditional Egyptian belly dance, it is famous for its colorful costumes and improvised group dancing! Soon it attracted a lot of fans, they embrace it and love it! After years of studying and training, they now chose some excellent dancers to become the members of the tribe.
