This exhibition at the Taikang Space looks at the rich life of the film star Hu Die (1908 – 1989). The film star lived in Europe in her early years before returning to Shanghai and playing a crucial part in the development of the Chinese film industry in the 1930s. After World War Two, she returned to the screen, starring in several more films before moving to Vancouver. This exhibition includes portraits and photographs with support from the Vancouver Art Museum`s Asia Pavilion.
