In order to strengthen the global exchange of the Yunfu stone art, promote Yunfu stone industry to join the Belt and Road construction, and accelerate the international cooperation of the Yunfu stone material and stone art, the Yunfu Municipal Government will host the 1st China (Yunfu, Guangdong) Stone Art Culture Festival and China Yunfu Stone Art Expo from 27th June to 3rd July 2017 in Beijing. Introduction to Yunfu

Yunfu is a city that has gained its national fame for its stones. The predestination between Yunfu City and Stones dated back to the Wanli Period, Ming Dynasty; during Xianfeng Seven Year, Qing Dynasty, Yunfu City was famous for the title “Dongan Flower Stone”, and Yunfu Stone Art has been included in the Guangdong Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage List. All kinds of jade, under the exquisite and scrupulous working of the Yunfu craftsmen, are becoming magnificent boutiques.

During recent years, Yunfu stone material industry has its scale grown promptly, industrial chain more and more perfected, industrial quality level risen dramatically, and become an industrial cluster integrating mining exploitation, stone material processing, mechanical manufacturing, engineering installation, and exhibition services. In 2016, the city’s annual output reached 39.2 billion RMB, of which the total output from enterprises above-the-scale realized 23.5 billion RMB. Yunfu stone materials are also “buying the world”, exported from India, Turkey, and other countries; after being processed locally, fitment and decoration works are “selling to the world”, and more than 1,000 kinds of stone material products are being sold to the US, Japan, Canada, and other 100 and more countries. The National Center for Quality Supervision and Inspection of Stone Products (Guangdong project) has been set up in Yunfu, which enables Yunfu to have the national 1st-class and world-advanced inspection and testing capacity, supported by strong inspection and testing technology, and is able to provide standard-setting, scientific research and other services for the stone material industry. Today, Yunfu stone materials have declared a development direction for the mountain area economies fitting into the “One Belt, One Road” strategy, and become a shinning development spot in Guangdong Province participating in the “One Belt, One Road” Initiative.
