If you are a writer who is considering publishing a book in China, or interested in how Chinese publishing houses operate, or you simply would like to sample some wine and meet new friends, come to FLP’s book event: How to Deal With Chinese Publishing Houses — A Talk with Three Experienced International Writers and Photographers on June 5th (Tuesday) at 3:00pm at the Foreign Languages Press Book Club.

At this event, three authors and photographers of the “Cities of China” series published by Foreign Languages Press, Bobby Brill from the United States, Ms. Olga Stefatou from Greece and Mr. Ruben Lundgren from Holland are going to talk about their first-hand experience with Chinese publishing houses.

The Small Magic Flute: Mozart for kids

We're screening The Small Magic Flute at Instituto Cervantes Pekin, an adaptation for kids of the famous opera by Wolfang Amadeus Mozart. The theatre company Els Comediants signs this version of the tale of Papageno, a humble boy who saved the princess Adelina, daughter of the Queen of the Night, with the only help of a magic flute.

Dear Friends,

Spirit It is happy to now launch the first Flair Master Class in Beijing as the hot days are here. First what is Flair ?

Flair: name given to the activity to play, juggle, flip, throw bottles and shakers in the air meanwhile making cocktails.

How is the class going to work ?: Everyone will learn tricks to flip bottles at different level according to each person's skills. People can join the class at anytime they would like and leave when they feel free. The price will remain the same for 1 to 3 hours, it's all up to you to choose how long you wish to train. You will use dummy bottles for practice. There will be no use of alcohol or juices for this training class.

Towards who is the class for ?: Everyone is welcome ! This is more dedicated to beginner and intermediate level. If you are already very professional and good at it, this class is not for you. This is mostly for fun and learn basic tricks for you to enjoy, have fun and impress your friends.
