suntan heaven
Just found a new tanning centre in Beijing- it's a branch of a shanghai outfit called 'bronze bodies'. They have 2 brand new sunbeds- a 160watt lie-down and a 160watt stand-up (which has more tubes so it's a bit stronger).
I think they're planning to get a couple more later on.
went last night- it was HEAVEN
they charge just a bit less than the other places in beijing- 90rmb per session - but you need fewer sessions cos they're stronger & quicker.
they also have those sachets/bottles of cream to help you tan faster.
It's on gongtibeilu opposite the stadium, go behind a turquiose estate agent, up a glass elevator to the 6th floor (they don't have a sign up yet).

Re: suntan heaven
I just went last night on your advice scamp. And it WAS heaven. Those are darn good beds - I have color after only one session!
Will be returning as often as I can afford it...

how much is a session?

Re: suntan heaven
A session is 90 quai... more expensive than home ( I could get unlimited tanning for 25 canadian dollars a month) but you do need to pay a premium here ( seeing as it is not so fashionable to be tanned in this country, thus there are fewer salons).

Re: suntan heaven
There are only two rooms - one is stand-up and the other is lie-down... and both are private, with locking doors. A session runs about fourteen minutes, but the beds are very powerful, so I even ended up with under-the-arm tan lines from snoozing off and forgetting to move around!
Its a very relaxing atmosphere and they even provide you with the tanning creams which most salons charge you for.
(and no I don't own the salon or work for them)
