Fresh Oysters?

I need fresh shucked oysters for oyster stuffing, but the Zhongguancun Carrefour in Haidian surprisingly doesn't carry them. I've seen oysters at numerous supermarkets around China, but am uncertain where to find them here in BJ. Close to Beida is best, but I'm willing to go downtown or to Sanlitun if need be. Thanks!!

You could call Flo, the French restaurant. I think they get fresh oysters from France once a week and they have a catering service (Flo Prestige), so they might even deliver them to your door.

Life Oyster Bar also has fresh oysters. I think they sell both imported and local oysters, and could tell you where to get them. Sorry, I don't have the phone number handy at the moment, but they should be in the bar listings of the free english-language magazines.

There's a big food market at XinYuanLi, which a pile of the sellers have fresh oysters - local variety. I don't know if they have imported Oysters but you could find out. It's about 100 meters east (towards 3rd ring) of the KFC on the opposite side of the street. The entrance is a big blue awning.
BTW - this is the same market that many bars, restaurants & even Jenny Lou's (caught Jenny there one day when they ran out of some supplies at one of the locations one day) buy much of their fresh produce & meat at.

Unfortunately closes down at 7pm, but all day before that.

life is way too short for me to eat raw oysters.... in Beijing. Russian roulette is overrated - no thanks. No thanks on sushi in Beijing also - even at Hatsune

raw oysters? Axe my horse head before I could even thinking about eating it. that's the No. 1 disgusting thing in western food.
We need something cool about horses here!
