What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

I renewed my F Visa for a six month extension (multiple entry) before and paid 1500 kuai for the pleasure. I just noticed this section and thought if we all say what we've paid for our visas we can ensure we don't pay over the odds. So if you have renewed a visa in Beijing slap the details of what visa, how much, and who got it and their contacts and we can make sure we all get good deals from here on in. None of the companies on the website advertise prices so they can charge as much as possible when it comes down to it, so let's see how low they're willing to go and who got the best deal.
Hope to hear from many of you.
D.

1370 RMB for a 6 month F extension.
Paul (canadian) 13911001062
took 12 days, but was very helpful though.
Oh I have a UK passport, I think the price varies a bit for different countries.

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

forgot to say, single entry

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

agree with Dave. i heard cases of less than RBM1,000 for singaporeans.

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

About 1100RMB. Yes it is different for different nationalities. Apparently Americans have to pay more in punishment for the US raising the cost of visas for Chinese to go to America.

free from desire but failed as yet to realise the mestery. where am I going wrong?

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

So can 1100 kuai get a F visa renewed? 6 months? Multiple entry?

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

yes unless you're american and then it's about 1500rmb

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

six months single entry you can get for about 800-900rmb

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

[American] I went from L visa to 6 month F "zero" entry, meaning I didn't have to leave and come back for RMB 1900. Though it sounds like I paid too much. PM me if you want contact.

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

Tyke--

I need to get an F visa very soon (my L is about to expire), but the cheapest I have found is 1650. Where can I find a reliable service for 1500?

Thanks

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

You can get much cheaper but you will only get it if your own employer offers the service. I would say for a standard service through the Chinese visa department, they should offer it for less than 1100 - 1200RMB if you have the support letter you need because those are the fees at the Hong Kong office (I actually paid 800 RMB in Beijing last time for 6 months multiple renewal). If you are doing it with an agency, you could try and play them off against each other for the cheapest deal. Remember you pay more money for an express visa - so if you have a few days ask for the slowest service. Also, what's your nationality? That is very very important because Americans pay more. If you have MAJOR problems you can pm me. I am not a visa service so please people don't start sending me crap.

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

I have renewed my F visa to multiple visa with only 1300kuai. But an L visa to F visa MUltiple is 1650kuai. Try to Call the China Visa Help and ask for Anton 13311380267
Just to try...

Hi there,

@ dlotinga: good idea. i have had just enough of intransparency over here. Love Struck

@all: so, based on what has been posted here, 800 - 1000 RMB would be a reasonable price for getting a 6 month F-Visa extend for another 6 months. Right?

bye,

Time for changes.

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

around 1500kuai is more likely

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

1230 RMB for 6 months multiple entry.
I'm in the process of doing it at the moment. Should go and pick it up next week.
But it depends on your nationality, but I guess the differences are not too big.

To point out the obvious, there is no point having this discussion unless you indicate your nationality. Chinese visas VARY WITH NATIONALITY. Unless you are American, 1500 for six months sounds ridiculous.

I buy mine in HK for HK$450 (6 months) on an Australian or British passport.

I know that you're only interested in renewing in BJ but for reference - Japan Travel Service, East Ocean Centre, Granville Rd (Tsim Sha Tsui East). MTR: TST Exit D.

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

3000 RMB for a year multy-entri visa.

?

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

I'm Russian, I renewed my F visa for a year extension (multiple entry) and paid 635 kuai, I went to visa department myself so that's why it's so cheap.
But my friend paid the same money and got only 6 months visa.

I'm from South Africa (wow, not to often hey). Anyone here from Africa that can estimate a reasonable price (F Multiple Entry Extension for another 6 months). 800-1000 kwai still sound reasonable.

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

北京市公安局出入管理处,东城区安定门东大街2号
Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, Visa Office for Foreigners, 2 Andingmen Dongdajie, Dongcheng District, 8402 0101
Mon-Sat 8.30am-4.30pm, they have lunch break but i don't remember when exactly

It's near 雍和宫 Yonghegong subway station, exit B, u should go to the east (turn right). It's about 5 minutes from subway (if walk)

L visa can be extended for 1 month
If u have F or X visa u should bring letter from ur company or university
For F visa u should also bring the license of ur company, the copy of it, application form, ur registration and 1 photo
As for X visa I don't the details

U can download application form here
http://www.bjgaj.gov.cn/net_service/download_center/info_detail.jsp?down...
press 下载

They need 1 week for the procedure, if u want faster it's more expensive

so if u don't have these documents u can't do it by urself

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

Yeah, not many people have all those documents.
I know, I don't.
So, I think paying 1230 RMB and not having to worry about a thing and not having to do a thing yourself seems fair enough.

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

I found the visa department to be around the same price as the agents after a bit of haggling and then you avoid the hassle of going down there and queuing for hours. I had a bad experience with the visa department the first time I tried to renew an F visa there. I have used an agent ever since with no problems.

I also used Paul who was mentioned at the beginning of this thread, by the way - very helpful guy Big Grin

Does anyone has experience with renewing a residence permit if you don't work anymore? Is it possible at all? Or do you have to switch to another type of visa? I have a bit of a problem with this sorting it out. I hope someone can help me. Thanks!

Re: What should it cost to renew a visa? More replies = good!

The cheapest I found was an F 1-year multiple entry for 2000RMB, although you can haggle the price down a bit if you're good at that sort of thing. I know two agents who offer this price.

I'm Canadian, and I know that the Korean price is the same. For other nationalities, I'm not so sure.

Note that this was a "renewal"; I already hold an F visa.
