Heartburn remedy Prilosec (omeprazole)

Anyone seen Prilosec on sale here in China (generic name omeprazole)? How much does it cost?

I found it, I found it! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

actually I find that most pharmacies stock about everything you can imagine (without a prescription) but that unless you know the Chinese name, they probably can't find it on their own shelves.

for you acid reflux sufferers, here's omeprazole:

奥美拉唑肠溶较囊
aomeilazuo changrong jiaonang

you can probably just say 奥美拉唑 aomeilazuo

as

肠溶 changrong means something like "sooth the intestines"

and

较囊 jiaonang means "capsules"

yup. It's available as an OTC generic drug at 20% of the US price for Zantac.

In pinyin it's leitidining (pronounced lay tee dee ning)

Thank god!!! I've been looking for this everywhere. The stuff I got at the SOS clinic was crap.

OMG, all you ppl with gut poblems - why dont you sort them out? If they are bad now... what will they be like when you are 50? Taking drugs, laxatives, stomach alkalis, or whatever, is only a very short-term fix and often tends to get into a habit.

To quote H.L. Mencken...
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

New Year - New Hat.

been taking it for 10 years now, no turning back for me. Acid reflux has been a chronic problem for me because of a hiatal hernia since I was in my late teens. Surgery is quite invasive and doesn't always work. The other option -- just tolerating stomach acid gurgling up into your esophagus, eventually will cause cancer of the esophagus (and if you think taking drugs is bad, imagine not having a feeding tube that connects your mouth to your stomach ... quite a damper to one's lifestyle)

Willing to hear (and try) any and all sorts of cockamamie remedies to this problem. Disclaimer: I've pretty much heard 'em all over the past 20 yrs or so

Eat stacks of brown bread, it soaks up the acids before they rise....maybe

Re: Heartburn remedy Prilosec (omeprazole)

Sometimes Zantac works well for me but last time it made me feel extremely dizzy? Is this a normal adverse effect? It helped my anti-acid, but what a crappy trade-off.

Re: Heartburn remedy Prilosec (omeprazole)

I meant to say it helped with the stomach acid haha.
