It's out! I seen it with my own two eyes and it's a beaut. 752 pages. Comprehensive. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Should be in stores by this weekend. Great beach reading for those of you heading to thailand (also great if the coup leaders decide to intern you for your own safety  )
Look for it in:
Cuckoo Bookstore (China World)
Bookworm
Ya Show 4th Floor Bookstore
Kids+ in Shunyi
Sanwei Bookstore
April Gourmet
Jenny Lou's
Bodhi Massage
and other spots around town
Or if you really need it fast (and fresh), email Zoe distribution@immersionguides.com and she can get it couriered to your office or home (but hurry as our office is closed for the holiday after Saturday ... and doesn't open again until Sunday the 8th!
It's ok, but I must confess I read last year's cover to cover, but didn't this year... it's the difference between a first-time introduction to BJ and an incremental update to last year's knowledge base. If I came to BJ this year, I would have been more bowled over, I guess.
At least the cover had a Chinese person on it this time.
here's what the magazine Colors in their special Beijing edition had to say about the Insider's Guide:
The Insider’s Guide to Beijing is the definitive guide for anyone planning to stay in the city for a while. It includes information on schools, doctors (of both Western and Chinese medicine) and where to get the best Peking duck, where to buy Italian shoes for kids and how to buy a house in the city. The guide covers everything from transportation to adult education. The 2007 edition also has a section on the Olympics. And since it includes lots of information about daily life in China from a foreigner’s perspective, it’s also a good read for the armchair traveler. Available from bookstores in major Chinese cities or order now from www.immersionguides.com
I just arrived in Beijing and the company provided me with the Insiders Guide. After a couple of days of use it is turning out to be better than I expected and very complete. The information is priceless. Thanks

HI Admin,
I posted this in Spa's section but no reply....
I have the IG, which is awesome. But unless I'm completely useless (always a possibility!) There are no location details given for the subject of the very first article in the book's introduction, about Dadonghai bathhouse.
I googled it, but no hits. Did I miss this somewhere?

Re: Insider's Guide 2006 - 2007
so what do people think of it? Seems there was some pent-up demand as we've already sold more than 2,000 copies, out less than a month ...
