Sweet old time, 80's... We children used to go out with our little paper lanterns (or did we do this at latern festival? can't remember...:oops: ) and walk around and giggle away...

Love the festival, hate the moon cake...

Black, White, Yellow... don't we all have red blood?!! ...or blue occasionally -- in women's TV ads...

This was the kind of lantern we used to have!!! And if we were lucky, we would have got a big rooster-booster one!!!

and this was the kind we were making... of course the paper would have been plain white paper...

well... people didn't have lots of money back then, but we appreciated every little fun we could have, it was nice. Now, lots of people got rich, and most of people just became greedy...

I quite like the little ones with fruit filling- like dates. Finding an egg yolk is nasty though.

the filling should be on the package, just ask the shop assistants, they should know.

i have a theory as how the game of hockey was developed: suffice it to say traditionally in China there were a lot of leftover mooncakes each fall season, and as the weather turned chilly ...

i like eggs, i really do, especially hard boiled ones, but the ones in mooncakes are always really salty and encased in minging bean curd paste yak!

They should start putting balls of marzipan inside instead

They are not normal boiled eggs, but "specially cooked" duck eggs. I don't know how are they made... It's called "xian ya dan".

I love it, only the yolk, the egg white is even more salty... (I always throw it away :oops: )
