Wanna buy fresh mint

Hi,

DO you know where I can get some fresh mint leaves, for any kind of cooking (and of course drinking !)

thanks

Basic rule about business in China : at first, laowai has the money and the chinese has the market knowledge ; then the chinese has the money and laowai the market knowledge :)

Re: Wanna buy fresh mint

carrefour and Jenny Lou stores both carry it but it is quite pricy.

Xiyuanli market has the best deal with a jin of mint for about 6 or 7 RMB

Re: Wanna buy fresh mint

buy some mint plants

as you enter the side go 2 lanes and take a left (can't take a right)
then last one or 2nd to last one on the right has them

not far from the sharks in the small tank

10 or 15 a plant depending on size i think
or maybe that was price of other herbs, she usually have 5 to choose from

No matter where you go, there you are..

Re: Wanna buy fresh mint

thanks for your reply but what i meant to ask was that...the location of xinyuanli...

Re: Wanna buy fresh mint

XinYuanLi across jinkelong at xanyuanqiao near hilton hotel. most taxi drivers know where it is. go to stall 100, she is the most decent n pretty honest so far.

Re: Wanna buy fresh mint

go north from the interstection of Capital Mansion (one of the taller buildings in town) go straight as far as you can until the road forks, the xinyuanli market is down the right fork, entrance about 100 meters on the right

Re: Wanna buy fresh mint

if anyone still want some fresh mint plants, we have different types of mint, have a look: herbsgarden.cn

but we recomment to buy in spring cause it wont take long that the weather will be too cold for mints to grow properly, unless you are very skilled in keeping mint plants, better wait for the coming spring.

Re: Wanna buy fresh mint

its grow best in wet environments and moist soils

Re: Wanna buy fresh mint

You can also find it in the Indian store in Sanlitun. Also there is one vegetable seller in the lane behind The Village who gives a lot of mint for just 1 RMB

Re: Wanna buy fresh mint
