LETS VOTE WHO IS WELL KNOWN AND INDIAN FOOD LOVER.
BEST INDIAN FOOD WITH VERY REASSONABLE PRICE IN BEIJING:
TAJ ----------
TANDOOR----------
MIRCH MASALA FINE INDIAN CUISINE--------
GANGES------------
MALLIKA--------
RAJ-----------
Well, except for Mirch Masala i haven't been to any of the restaurants mentioned above, but....I've already been to Mirch Masala twice with friends and sampled many dishes including: chicken tikka, allo gobi, papdoms and many kinds of nans and pickles.
The food is delicious and the price is affordable as well.
In addition the restaurant is located on the charming nan luoguxiang hutongs and so at night the scenery is amazing.
Meal for 2: about 200 kuai. Don't miss the chai....
i recently went to the diwali buffet at ganges and for 48rmb per person it was certainly outstanding. the curries were tasty and full of meat and veg. the service is always very friendly there too.
last night i went to the christmas eve buffet at raj and it was very disappointing. it was 98 per person and the curries were watery and lacking in substance, the rice was chinese rice, not indian, and futhermore the advert claimed to offer a free glass of wine, free flow beer, indian style turkey and an indian performance. we were there for over an hour and we had to pay as we sat down, leaving the staff to afterwards treat us as they wished. the free glass of wine was clearly off so when i complained the waitress just said 'no it isn't' and gave it back to me. the performance never materialised (unless it was the very brief appearance of a chef who tossed some nan dough into the air and then just as hastily disappeared), there was no turkey, and no beer. the seating arrangement hadn't been thought out at all.. from my chair i actually had to walk around the other restaurant and ask 2 people so stand and move their seats for me to get to the buffet. it seemed as though very little thought or effort had gone into it at all and to say ganges can do such a good job for half the price i see no reason to go back to raj or recommend it to anyone.
I'd say Taj is the best, but its not cheap by any means, so it wouldn't qualify here..
I'd say Mirch for the food, price and location. Just went there last night and it was quite good. Ganges is also pretty good and a little more expensive, but moderately priced. I hear Mallika is ok but expensive. Chingari is also not bad but pricey too..
Indian Kitchen - too much ghee/oil, cheap cuts of meat, I ordered extra spicy and there was no burn.
Chingari - better quality, the naan is good.
Taj - the best, but it's the most expensive. There is truth in the saying "you get what you paid for".
I haven't been to Mirch Masala yet, so no comment.
Chingari offers the best cuisine, I have tried others but not so good as Chingari................ Try it. On fourth floor above Pizza Hut at Donzhimen Wai
