@Keith, this is a Klingon, their language sounds like Shanghainese and although they have more friends in the known galaxy, the clothing is similar.

yeah, i think the shanghai women takes their fashion cues from klingon females. and probably the wardrobe designer for "curse of the golden flowers" too.

Why is it that almost all Mainland Chinese I've met find Cantonese sexy, while all expats I know find Cantonese ugly and disturbing? Is it because the Chinese associate Cantonese with Hong Kong pop stars?

You've got to be batshit crazy to think Canto sounds sexy, it seemed like much more yelling than mandarin. I used to think Russian wasn't sexy, but I've changed my mind after chatting with hot russians and learning to say vulgar phrases... come to think of it, its all about if the person speaking is sexy or not.

Hmm... you may be on to something there. Perhaps that's why I like Cantonese. I could come to appreciate Russian, too, considering some of the Russians I have met lately.

I'm not really qualified to teach it, but I believe there are three "shapes" like rising, falling, and flat, and three pitch levels: low, medium, and high. So you have high flat, low falling, medium rising, etc.

I second this.. Cantonese sounds annoying, and it often sounds like they are arguing when they speak.
Speak Manderin with a Cantonese accent is worse..especailly when people try to fake a Cantonese or Taiwanese accent..
