DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

I spent my last two Thanksgiving dinners at Paul’s Steak & Eggs - they are the worst ever. I went the second time because I thought thing could change. But the same thing happened AGAIN - we weren’t able to get a table, even though we made the reservation more than a month in advance...

Me and my friends had to wait outside the restaurant for more than 1 hour in the cold, along with dozens of other customers. We couldn’t leave or go to a different place, because everything has already been planed, and it was almost impossible to find another place within such a short time. So we waited, and finally, about 1 hour and 20 minutes later, we got a table. The inside of the restaurant was not much warmer. Since people walked in and out, the door was open most of the time. Another 30-minutes’-wait for the food, I finally got to “enjoy” my holiday turkey, with my coat on and zipped all the way up...

Why do I have to be treated this way? We made the reservation a month ahead!

Paul books more tables than he actually has. So you think you have made your reservation, in fact there was no table being held for you. They never asked once about our reservation name... Apparently, “reservation” at Paul’s is just a trick to get more people to come. And most people won’t leave once they are there...

I am never going back to that place again!

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

Not a gambler? Really?
Honestly you should try it a third time... you never know, this time you could get lucky.

I never went to that place... look at the name... "Paul’s Steak & Eggs"

show me the rules, i show you the money

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

Did anyone see that Hooters is having a thanksgiving dinner?

I could not think of a sadder, lonelier place to be on Thanksgiving than a Hooters restaurant.

Unless it was Maggie's or Hard Rock Cafe, I guess

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

I'm having Thanksgiving dinner...

wait, no I'm not. What a stupid holiday. You f-ing celebrate by eating a bird. And this demonstrates gratitude? Not a holiday for the logical, y'know?

DO YOU FEEL INTENSIFIED DO YOU FEEL INTENSIFIED

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

How is the food at Paul's Thanksgiving dinner?

When I first got to Beijing I used o go there a lot because I was coming from a much smaller city in CHina and amazed to find a place that had the exact feel of an American diner.....but then I realized that the food is rather mediocre....and I've had doubts about the cleanliness...

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

I used to be a regular at Paul’s Steak & Eggs. The food was OK, and price USED TO BE very reasonable... Then I stopped going there, after I found out that owner couple are mean to their employees, I even saw them yelling at one of their waitress once...

I looked back at time, and it seems that Paul, the owner, acts quietly differently in front of his foreign and Chinese customers, never had I seen him being friendly to a Chinese customer... I think he is a racist!

Stuck in Beijing!

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

Why would you eat your Thankgsiving Dinner at Steak and Eggs...

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

Yeah, I don't like how the owner treats his employees.

The food is terrible.

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

Who the hell would want to go there anyway with that wanker of owner with his big porno moustache!

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

Use their take-out service. Last year I ordered the whole dinner to go, and it was ready when I arrived to pick it up. Much better option if you are having a party and having the food prepared for you than trying to get a table.

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

Ahahaaaaa....

The OP makes me laugh, why do people put themselves through these ordeals?

Walk away. The obvious answer.

Stupid holiday.

Plus I've heard and read quite a few accounts about how dirty Steak and Eggs is and yeah, the owner looks like Borat.

Sweet Jesus, no! noooooooooo! Yelling at a waitress? Doesn't he know that as the owner of a restaurant you should never, EVER discipline your staff? If they do something wrong you just gotta let them keep trying it until they do it right of their own accord, don't yell at them! Thats like rape of the ears, and rape is illeagle, i agree, paul should be sent to prison.

Well thats all the evidence i need to pass judgement. First the rape, now he's commiting hate crimes on the customers in his restaurant. I think it's only a matter of time before this sicko really hurts someone, we need to get this moustacheoid deviant off the streets forever. Someone needs to take all the evidence to the police, it'll only be a matter of time before he's tasting the cold red steel of communist justice.

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

Yeah, he's a real monster

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

jumbo breakfast - yes!
ruben sanwich - yes!
chicken sandwich - yes!
poutine - used to like it but bookworm's is better now.
bloody mary - yeah, go on then.
everything else - nah.

And I hate it when paul starts chatting with you - if I wanted endless small talk with an old canadian I would have gone to the den.

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

I love the Jumbo Breakfast.

There's so much pork in it that PETA has issued a fatwa on Paul

"Come try"? Do you represent TTBBQ?

If so, please can you state that to clarify whether your numerous recommendations of this place (in this and other threads) are worth listening to or not.

Where can I go for a nice Christmas dinner?

try steak and eggs - I hear it's good for these kind of things

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

Paul's Steak and Eggs restaurant quality is pretty low. I would not trust them handling my Thanksgiving or Christmas meal. Besides turkey or ham, other side dishes they provide are simple and easy to make.

Doesn't sound great at all.

Re: DON’T LET ‘PAUL’S STEAK

Pauls Steak n Eggs makes a fantastic burger and chocolate pancakes. Id opt for a nicer place in town for a commemorative dinner such as thanksgiving.
