Man, I'm with you. What I wouldn't give for a fresh-off-the-boat grilled tuna steak!

Do tuna run on this side of the world?

If we gathered tuna frustrated people on this forum, we could buy a whole one.....
I bought fresh tuna once in Jiang supermarket on Chaowai, but it was already sliced for sashimi use and the flesh was soft, guess it was not so fresh....

Maybe it's time to get friendly with one of the sushi chefs at Hatsune and find out where they acquire their supply. I've looked all over for fresh tuna too and have had zero luck. A good source of swordfish or mako shark steaks would be nice too. I don't get nearly enough mercury in my diet.

If Hatsune don’t tell then next best thing take glass cutter next time and steal there tuna from the sushi bar when then are not looking hehe!

really - if you want I can arrange a whole tuna fresh from Canada but i need to reserve and the delivery is spotty - but when it comes wow!

I just had a fresh tuna loin flown in that I served this past weekend in my restaurant, the rest I did not sell I froze to use again in another application -

but wow, great color, flavor texture ect -

You can buy red tuna at pacific century place basement supermarket.
It is for sashimi use but I often make it grilled or cooked and it is delicious.
It is expensive : about 40 RMB for a 170g piece.

Don't laugh but that whiskas tuna in the pouch ain't half bad on crackers and runs cheaper than the canned stuff.

I know this says Fresh TUNA - but in any case, I know that Jenny Lou has steaks of it frozen, it's quite expensive, but at least that means I dare to serve it to my guests without worring too much about them getting foodpoisoned by some sneaky fishmarked bacteria...

I really don't wanna even notice THE JUICE's remark here, but just for kicks - isn't cat/dog food quite expensive also in Beijing? We have a pet crawfish, and he runs quite cheap, but...
