ticket lottery?
the second phase ticket lottery started last week. On the website it says 1 application per person & 2 sessions per application. That means I can only buy tickets for 2 sports, is that right?
what's the consensus on ticket availability?
I suppose popular sports will be oversubscribed but am i going to have to pay a scalper a ludicrous mark up just to watch the preliminary heats of weightlifting/archery etc etc?
thanks

Re: ticket lottery?
That website is so damn cryptic... I messed up my application!
- you are allowed 2 sessions and 1 application.
- each session is good for 4 tickets.
- only send in the application after you've picked all 8 tickets.
I messed up mine and sent it in after choosing only 4 tickets ( Handball and football) so basically I cut my chances in 1/2. I'm hoping I can still apply to through the Bank of China for 4 more.

Go check your inboxes or junk mailboxes as it may go there.
Good luck to all.

Re: ticket lottery?
I just looked at the site, and no news has been posted, nor has my application for phase 2 been updated in any way. The lottery was supposed to happen at the end of January- anyone heard anything?

Re: ticket lottery?
OK, this was posted:
"The Phase 2 ticket lottery has been conducted and tickets have been allocated to the domestic general public in China through a random selection process for any over-subscribed sessions. Starting from January 27, the lottery results are being announced to the customers in the form of emails, SMS messages and phone calls. Bank of China will soon start the batch payment process for your allocated tickets as authorized by the Beijing Olympic ticketing center. If you have been allocated any tickets, please make sure you have enough funds in the Bank of China Savings account or Visa card you provided to pay for them."
But it's odd, both myself and my girlfriend applied to a mix of events (in demand, and not) and neither have heard anything. Argh.

Re: ticket lottery?
Their logistics around the flow of information around this lottery process (how and when things will happen) has been outrageously poor. They suck ash. Still nothing.
