Besides PS2, PS3, WII and WOW, what is the hot game in Beijing now? A friend of mine here in Boston is trying to find a gift for her friend who is into gadgets and games. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Joe
Thanks for the tips blucat and seabreeze98.
How is life in Beijing? I'm a Chinese. I lived in Beijing for 3 years and then in the US for 13 years. US is great in the sense that you don't have to bargain for most things you buy...
I think you forgot the xbox360...nothing you cant get back home...except that it will be easier to get consoles chipped....then you could just fork out and get a sh*t load of games.
The DS is cool but there aren't many reason for owning one over the GBA SP....the best games on both systems being GBA games IMHO. Advance Wars1/2 is a reason to own the gba....I'm not even that into strategy but was hooked on those games for months when they came out.
Anyway...the gadgets themselves can all be found at home....but a large box of games for a chipped system isnt easy to come by...at least not in my country...unless you want to spend a few weeks downloading them.
Anyway...if shes into games I'm guessing shes got a resonably able machine at home...just stock up on a bunch on PC games and bring them back.....anyway...lots of women say they are into games but what they really mean is they enjoy it now and again or there is just one particular game they like....(yeah yeah, bitch and moan if you want...its true).
When a guy says hes into games he means he sits at home drinking beer playing games until he passes out as many nights a week as he can.
In Hong Kong it was common to see young girls and ladies playing on their DS Lite on the bus or metro. In China, haven't really seen many women playing these.

I play my GBA SP all the time now, I think I stopped taking Taxi's just so I can have some GBA time.
It may be old but I definitely don't care if it drops on the pavement, if it was a DS or something I spent more than $40 on I'd be pissed.
Here's a big thing: If you get a GBA get a ROM CART so you can download games off the net, and stick it on there.
For me, there's really only 5-8 games I'd pay money for, and I already have. But with this I can basically sample every game ever made (and 80% of them suck) to find something nice.
I got mine somewhere in Yonghegong, at the sub station not at the temple, but way down the street on the same road. It's Beixinqiao I think.
Anyways theres one of those cubicle mall things, the guy at the top of the stairs sells them for like 100 Yuan.
You can probably buy them anywhere but that's where I found them.

Thanks for the ideas. Is Nintendo DS similar to Gameboy?
Hide the pickle? I'm talking about electronics games here...

Nintendo DS (or newer version, Nintendo DS Lite) is 2 screen Nintendo game, Gameboy is pretty 'old'. See picture below.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. I know little about games, especially electronic ones, and yet I impressed my friend.
