Is the API really 87 today?

I live at Guomao and looking out the window today, the CCTV building (a.k.a. "pants") is half visible. Debating if its too polluted to head out today, but according to SEPA (http://english.sepa.gov.cn/) the API for Beijing today is 87. Maybe it's just Guomao, or somebody needs to tell SEPA to look out the window. What's the view like from where you are? Is th API really 87 today?

Re: Is the API really 87 today?

Sorry, new to Beijing, what is API? Obviously something about pollution, is it a kind of measurement? Who is doing it? I am not sure you would get an honest measurement from the government.

Re: Is the API really 87 today?

Air Pollution Index

Re: Is the API really 87 today?

You can't believe those SEPA numbers anyway---and even if you did they don't include what's really in the air anyhow---just one word of advice----lung damage due to pollution can never be reversed... Surprise And then there are mega-morons who smoke at the same time...

NO FEAR
