Are there any selfrespecting Sports bars in Beijing??
Next thursday 15.15 UK time Manchester City is playing an unknown Danish team. Ordinarily this game is unimportant but seeing as Man C lost 1-0 at home and have always had a hard time getting into europe I feel the return game would be quite interesting to watch. Am I to believe that the socalled "sports bars" in Beijing are only able to show whatever is on some backwater Australia, south african and thai TV channelS?? I am not impressed. If there is a bar owner out there who actually caters to European football fans i would be very happy to hear from him.

Probably not going to happen considering 99% of chinese people only support Chelsea or Manchester united or rockets/lakers. People have no idea about what it is to be a real sports fan here.

very slim chances... from a business perspective, bars will try to show the games that will bring in big business and for a competition like champions league or UEFA cup, there are too many big names playing for City to be broadcasted. you might be able to watch it on p2ptv

Who do I ask at these bars? when i call or go there, there is only chinese staff who understand nothing. Would bars agree to do p2ptv if i bring the laptop? There are no other big games in this round (its still qualification) apart from Aston villa and some icelandic team they beat 5-1 .
If anyone knows a bar where it would be easy to talk to them?
thanks

umm they show a lot of premiership games at The Den on GongtiBeiLu... my husband heads down there for games.
Paddy O'Sheas is a nice bar, not sure about games though
One more option is All Star (in solana)- They have like 100 Tvs, call and ask them.
Whatever

HHmm...I'm new to Beijing myself and an avid Tottenham fan. Generally i would like to follow any premiership or European football on TV. I am aware that tonight is a pretty big game back home...Liverpool v Manchester Utd so surely one of these bars should be showing the game right??
