Are L, F Visas available Japan? (Tokyo)
Hello,
This is from the guy who's currently stuck in S. Korea after finding out (after flying all the way over here) that foreigners cannot get any kind of visa unless they've been living in S. Korea for 3 months and have become residents.
My two options now are to fly to Hong Kong or Japan. I know I can likely get a visa in Hong KOng, but it's $100 more than a ticket from Seoul to Tokyo...plus I have friends I can stay with in Tokyo for free....so as long as I stick to eating noodles for a week I should actually be able to save money by going to Japan.
Does anyone know what the current Visa situation is in Japan, should I be able to at least get a tourist if I have my return flight and proof of residence in China(Instead of a hotel booking)? I don't want to fly there only to find that they too have put in place some insane rule 3 weeks ago like in S. Korea.
Thanks for any and all of your help, I'm an American Citizen and my wife is S. Korean.

I got a L visa in Japan in May, after the visa clampdown went into effect, don't know what the story is now though, although I can't imagine it being any different.

Hey guys,
I need to go to Japan in one week and after contacting the embassy I was told that with a Chinese visa like mine (L VISA, 1 year, multiple entrances) they can't make a visa for me here... They said that I need a work visa or student visa if I want to make the visa in China, the only option they gave me is to make the visa in my home country.
Does anybody knows any other option? Maybe some agency or something?
I can't go back home just to make this visa...
Thanks!
