I'm going to have to renew my visa soon but I'm out of visa pages in my passport. Is there any way I can get extra pages without leaving Beijing? I have a US passport.
I am going to assume you are American. Just go to the embassy. There is some charge I'm sure but there should be no problem adding pages to your passport.
Oddly enough, it is free if you have it done while you're in a foreign country. If you have pages added in the US, there is a charge for an additional 24 pages (I forgot what the charge was). I actually just used all of my original pages plus the additional 24 so I need to get a new passport this week. Burned a bunch of pages on those full page Chinese visas before I got my working card and work visa.
just got new pages last week in mine. It took 15 minutes and was free at the embassy. They just sew it in between the old pages after you fill out a short application. They gave me 12 new double sided pages.

Cheers,
That's so obnoxious of them although I can see the logic behind that (easier to do in the US maybe so why not make the citizens pay whereas overseas, inconvenient for US citizens so make it free for them).
Question - anyone know if the new embassy is open for business yet or do we still have to go to the old embassy for US citizen services?

I'm in the process of doing this too. I thought I read it's possible to add extra pages 3 times.

It's true...the back and front passport cover can only expand so much.
