QFT yo.... dude i bought once the brand that was in the Beijinger homepage yesterday, it tasted like water ( bought it to eat cornflakes which is shitty also )...

it was like 13 rmb and nestle one is 11rmb and more ml ( 1000ml, the chinese one was 900ml ) so then i tried and it tastes like milk at least..

Oh mate, one serious question, the pack of milk shown in the blog is now contaminated or not? I have not got the point.

Please somebody should tell, because just heard from the doctor that my gf is having stones in the kidney (NO JOKE).

And exactly this pack of milk shown in the other blog is still available in my fridge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The BRIGHT dairy FRESH MILK (white n blue carton with red colored writing) is also tainted!

I just read that, the milk my 3 kids and I have been consuming for healthy snacks and breakfast everyday for more than 4 years or so here in China is also contaminated with melamine. Not just that, it also has the highest level of melamine amongst the other companies.

VERY DISAPPOINTING AND FRUSTRATING!!! from poisoned toys to formalin candies, toxic toothpaste and now tainted milk, yogurt and ice cream? really a "BRIGHT" future here for the young ones...

Milk? Why the f*** are people drinking milk in the first place? As far as I'm concerned it's for baby cows. If you have teeth stop drinking milk. Seriously, it's not all that healthy anyway, it's just mostly marketing lies. I'm sure you've all noticed the huge milk industry ad push to make milk a staple food in China, it's a repeat of what's already happened in the states or elsewhere. When are people going to stop believing corporations about what is healthy, or what a good investment is, or you name it? Corps lie to get your money and the governments in their pockets help them.

for thousands of years cultures around the world have been eating milk and dairy products long before corporations and governments told them what was "healthy". The question is not why are people drinking milk，why can't people get safe milk in this day and age?

As for buying imported brands exclusively, many foreign owned companies produce their products regionally. That means many of them use the same raw materials that domestic companies use. Example: If you buy Listerine on this side of the world, it is produced in Thailand.
So don't let the name brand make you too comfortable. Look at their production location and investigate further.
This problem however is not uniquely Chinese, it happens all over the world, even in so called developed countries. China is under a microscope these days and everything makes the news.

My baby was drinking blacklist milk for three months and thankfully tested negative. She now drinks S-26 from Singapore. American company Johnson-Mead, which enjoys a 24% market share in China, announced in response to the crisis they would RAISE there prices by 15%. Everyone wants to make a quick buck.

There should be justice in this case that is swift and severe.

Milk powder is in almost everything as filler and protein enhancer.

Where do you think milk powder comes from? The liquid milk mountain.

Does China subsidize commodity prices? That might tend to discourage people from adulterating food. My understanding is that the price of milk production was rising, but apparently the prices paid for milk was not?

Nestle is on the list now too.

Count me in Dude! But, who cares in this country anyway? Does the authorities care for babies' life? To face the truth - China is killing babies almost everyday because abortion here is legalized. I once visited a public hospital with my friend and I saw a long line of pregnant mothers applying for abortion and I noticed there are some carrying 3 months in their womb. . .Huuuhh! Dammnnnn.. so strange! My heart turned into melting ice. Those babies has a heart beat already and that means there is a life inside the womb. If there's somebody deserves to be executed it must be the authorities themselves for being ignorant and for not giving values to human life, especially to those innocent babies. Do they know what "VALUES" means?

The best thing about drinking milk is that after you milk the cow you can kill it and barbecue it.

Aparently I hear that the European standard limit is something like 40ppm and the US limit is 20ppm for melamine in milk, so it is fairly widespread across the globe it seems.

If Nestle has a limit of 4-6ppm then it is well within the limits imposed by the above countries. Now, that doesn't say that have ANY in there is good at all, but it seems that it is all a matter of degree.

I think some people are saying that any diaries which use plastic containers to store their milk (rather than the old glass milking storage vessels - udder->milk storage vessel->storage tank) will get some plastic residue (maybe melamine)in the milk. This is where it is 'alleged' to come from.

I have not seen many articles on it in the press, but I haven't loooked too hard.

I don't know of a urine test for melamine poisoning. The WHO have updated their page on this topic; it's not encouraging.

By the way, according to this website, in Singapore even White Rabbit Candy has tested positive for abnormally high amounts of melamine. Guess it's time to kick my White Rabbit habit....
