Audio Equipment: External Soundcard for Laptop + MIDI stuff
Is Herbie still around? He might be the perfect one for this kind of question:
I'm looking for a place where I can buy decent quality but also good value audio equipment, specifically an external soundcard for laptop (USB) and MIDI controller stuff.
Any ideas? BTW, I hate places where you have to bargain excessively

Go to Jishuitan subway station and then walk south. After you pass the mcdonalds, the street turns into a musical instrument district. You will find keyboards, guitars, drums, violins and electronics for music.
Not sure if I've seen a sound card, but I have seen midi controllers... the electronics seem to be on the east side of the street.

I was at this place today and Booth C2-237 has this stuff.
Go to Liang Ma Qiao and go east of the lufthansa centre. At the intersection where Maizidian turns in to Tianzi street, go North (left) on Tianzi street... go down the lane at Super Bar street (at the O'Mart sign on the east side of the street and then into the market just past the new Tibmed Spa. There is a large market of cell phones, audio stuff etc... and computer stuff real cheap.... on the second floor there are a couple of booths here selling midi, synthesizers etc...
But beware of the mics here.... many fakes...
but looks like this guys mikes are ok!
