Re: ICBC Beijing online

You can. Under "internatioal remittance". But I think you have to activate it in a branch office first.

Re: ICBC Beijing online

Re: ICBC Beijing online

I've forgotten my logon password to access icbc's internet banking .... First logon password is the password they give you when you apply for it, and which you can then change. That's the one to get access to your account details.

There is also a password required when doing the transfer authorisation. That requires the USB key and the USB key password.

I had to install the security software from the website as both my computer and laptop couldn't install it from the installation CD.

I've never tried sending money overseas, sorry.

Re: ICBC Beijing online

sorry I haven't checked this thread for a couple of days. I have been using the ICBC online banking using downloaded certificated and installed activeX control software(without the USB thing). ICBC seems to have just changed their online banking entry address in the last few days. Open this in your Internet Explorer (no Firefox or any other funny business. this is chinese bank online banking and they only want to see IE):
http://www.icbc.com.cn/icbc/sy/default.htm

on the upper left there is a button for personal banking. you can login from there without the USB key.

Since you already have the USB key things might be diffrent. From reading the page you need to install a driver then download a certificate to that USB key.

if the above fails just call 95588 (chinese and english).

hope this helps

Re: ICBC Beijing online

Babo, why don't you take the laptop with you to the bank and see if one of the employees there can do the installation for you?

I agree that you're stuck with IE for using their internet banking.

Damn, I forgot to go to the bank to get a new password Sad

Edit:
Oops, sorry, I forgot you need to be connected to the net, and they won't allow you to connect your laptop. Wrong advice.

Yes, login does not require USB, only the transaction authorisation requires USB

Re: ICBC Beijing online

use this address to access the login point of online non-VIP personal banking
https://mybank.icbc.com.cn/icbc/enperbank/index.jsp

at some point you will be asked to download and install their activeX control program at http://www.icbc.com.cn/icbc/html/download/dkq/icbc_netbank_client_contro... to preven passwd theft.

If you have wireless (through the mobile phone networks, not WIFI) you could try it in a branch office. But form my experience the staff at the hot line knows the standard answers pretty well.

Re: ICBC Beijing online

thanks all,

i went at a new branch of ICBC this weekend (95588 didn t work)
got help and advice, i can log on now

but i still don t know if the usb will work (i installed active x and the driver)

because i just realized you cannot wire euros from account to account in china Smile (at least with BoC)

after getting mad on the hardware part of things, i lost sight of the real major pain in the rearside of all this : chinese financial regulations for foreign currencies

Re: ICBC Beijing online

if the wiring is one-off you can try Western Union, or just do it over the counter at an bank branch office. I am sure it is possible to wire Euros to a foreign account that way.

By the way it took me more than a month but eventually I get my ICBC dual currency creditcard in RMB and Euro. BOC also issues such card but it demands 5000 Yuan deposit or some such. Now I can fund whatever in Euro abroad and kill the bill locally in Euro, eleminating any overhead.

Re: ICBC Beijing online

aaaaaargh, i can t take it anymore

now, i can log on on ICBC
i unsuccessfully tried to wire money between my Boc and my ICBC online accounts (rmbs not euros), just to see how it worked, well, the result is impressive

-BoC online does not know my ICBC sub-office, which kills my initiative in the bud

and on the other side

-ICBC online asks me for my password token (which i assume is the USB)
what is this?
it s neither my ATM password or my Internet logon password

i have 4 answers left ...
and not much hope

Re: ICBC Beijing online

yes, for payment authorisation, it should be the password of the USB, which the bank clerk should have given you when you first applied for the net banking facilities.

Re: ICBC Beijing online

S..t! I went to the branch to get the login password changed last Friday. Today, I try to log in to verify something in my account. It asks me to change password, which is acceptable since it is my first log-in since the password change.

However, the lady at the bank must have done something strange about my login details .... I used ID Type = Passport and ID No = my passport number.

The online banking system is refusing to accept the details saying they don't match!!

Error Code: 96110018
Identity type and number are inconsistent

And it won't allow me to proceed further.

I haven't brought my passport, need to wait another day and then go to the bank again.

Sucks.

Re: ICBC Beijing online

Hi guys,

why are you making your live so miserable?

Go to HSBC: online banking in the whole World, EURO-US$-RMB-HKD Transfer for free and easy! Of course, the maximum limits for each transfer have to be looked at.

But, I feel, the online banking with HSBC is the easiest ones available, even my "home bank" in Germany is not providing such an excellent service as HSBC!

Re: ICBC Beijing online

Just to make a few points.

Yes, ICBC has online banking in English

If you have an ICBC account already go to any branch and get the online login data (it's costs a little)

You will need to select a password.

Once you are online you need to create your own "token"

"token" is the 2nd password that pops up when you do an actual transfer.

My USB does not get "recognized" as in "a popup message". Still works though.

HSBC is not free in China. You need rmb100,000 in your account, or pay rmb55 a month. Local transfers are free, also to other banks in China, but international costs.

Re: ICBC Beijing online

Is there somebody out there who works in ICBC or knows somebody there who can help me with an URGENT (but simple) banking problem?

I am out of the country and unable to activate the "hotline",
nor can I download the ebanking software either from the website or the CD.

I simply need a point of contact at ICBC where I can sort this matter out.

I will be grateful to anyone who can help.

Re: ICBC Beijing online

I think the system is not compatible with Vista/Win7/Mac/Linux. When I registered for it, the latest Windows version it could accept was Win XP and you had to use IE as browser.

Re: ICBC Beijing online

I tried to deposit some dough into my mainland ICBC account at HK and they told me it was impossible.

At least I could access the funds at Macao and HK though.

I used the internet banking for a while, then something weird happened with the website and I could not log in anymore.

That was about a year ago.

Step 3: I have made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God as I understand Him.

Re: ICBC Beijing online

no need of usb,use internet explorer,open icbc website,and log on,thats so simple.goodluck!

Re: ICBC Beijing online

Using ICBC online banking without USB key limits transfer to 500rmb ... not sure what your landlord thinks about receiving rent in 500rmb slices ... USB key allows more, but does not work with Windows 7 - and nobody is able to tell when it will - neither it does on company PC, because you have to install with admin rights.

Pay gas/water/electricity bills is not possible when login in English, but only in Chinese. Setup auto-pay for these bills is not possible at all online, but only by visting a ICBC counter.

So compared to foreign standards, features of ICBC are really backward.
