Why can't we win, an all expense paid trip for 7 days and 6 nights to our choice of Acapulco, The French Riviera, or Honolulu? Kind of chintzy on the door prizes aren't we. JUST KIDDING!!

Re: Review a restaurant, get a dining gift certificate!

Thanks Lodgerly and Admin...

Didn't know I won till the other day, and I never win anything!

Just curious how do you know which review you won for? I try to be honest as possible with out too much sugar or spice (although some restaurants can burn you!).

Whatever

Smile

the Beijinger 7days in Beijing!

It was about your review of Chef Too. Long long time ago tho.

See your username and quote of your review on the left side bar.

Cheers!

Re: Review a restaurant, get a dining gift certificate!

I won I won I won! I wonder how long it will take to get the voucher in the post

And: Can one win twice? Or do we all have to now change our usernames Tongue

Re: Review a restaurant, get a dining gift certificate!

lol Tongue Patience!

There is no other delivery guy like our delivery guy in town!

Yes, technically, you can. No need to change your username, since users can post both on forum and classifieds by one account, it can help you to keep the history record. (But we are trying to spread the prizes around - so not likely to win again any time soon...)

And just checked from sales, you can expect to get their prize either tomorrow or Monday.

Re: Review a restaurant, get a dining gift certificate!

Re: Review a restaurant, get a dining gift certificate!

Overall, perhaps 6/10, kinda disappointed after glowing review in 7 days. Prices at end of the day not much different than Dadong, a little cheaper I suppose.

How does it work? Is it like a lucky draw or does everyone who reviews a restaurant win?

thanks

Re: Review a restaurant, get a dining gift certificate!

admin I sent you a PM about this but thought other people might be wondering as well.

What if we want to review a restaurant that is not in your directory?

Is it that you have to pay to be listed?

Re: Review a restaurant, get a dining gift certificate!

I think this week Remmy wins for his Cafe Sambal review.

No. It's free.

Which one do you want to review?

Please send the information to us. We will put it in our directory.

Re: Review a restaurant, get a dining gift certificate!

Now you've got people doing advertisement for their own places in the review section.

Not even a review.

That guy from the The Stumble Inn doesn't even do a review, he just promotes his own bar.

That's not a "review" is it? It's just something that should be in an advertisement.

The only problem was I neglected to take a business card with me and therefore don't know the phone number.

It's in Andingmen, behind the McDonald's, it's an Italian restaurant called "The Rambler Cafe".

I'd like to write a review for it, but it's not in the listings.

Re: Review a restaurant, get a dining gift certificate!

Cool. Can you send an email and write sth about it, like location, size, style....to listings@thbeijinger.com?

Thanks a lot!

Re: Review a restaurant, get a dining gift certificate!

I think you put only thoese restaurants name in the list for nominations who pay you money or advertise with you. Othewise howcome last years Editor Award winner PUNJABI INDIAN RESTAURANT is not even in the list for nomination.

Even today in your listing it has 5 stars and the place is great with unbeliveable food. We often go there and eat and feel strange that such a real Indian good food restaurant does not even find name in the listing for nomination.

Any reason ?????

We don't choose the nominees for the Reader's Ballot -- our readers do.

Here's how we did it:

We started with a nomination panel of 100 Beijing food writers, gourmands and F&B professionals, and added a randomly selected list of 100 voters from last year’s balloting.

These 200 people were provided a blank ballot and were asked to name their favorite restaurants in each of 64 categories.

After tabulating their nominations, we narrowed the categories down to the 35 most competitive.

The top eight vote-getters (more, in the case of ties) in each of these categories were placed on the official ballot.

Regarding advertising: Restaurants, no matter how excellent, are very unlikely to win a popular vote if they don't aggressively promote themselves. There's just too much competition out there.

The "Editor's Pick", since it is made by a much smaller group, is not based on relative popularity so smaller restaurants have a better chance of being named there.

Re: Review a restaurant, get a dining gift certificate!

This week's voucher winner:

mthopesch for his/her review of Metro

Quote:
... For me it is much better than all the other so called "Italian" restaurants. Nothing fancy, no surprises, focus on fresh pasta (they fortunately have no pizza in order not to mess up wwith the pasta I guess..) You get what you got last time...and this makes it relatively unique ...

mthopesch has won a voucher to eat at Mughal's valued at RMB 200.
