Earplugs ???

Hi just wondering, since there are so many music events in the city, if anyone knows where I can buy earplugs. People have suggested to me, that they are not sold in Beijing. I was told that the closest thing I could find is swimming earplugs. But that is not what I am looking for. I'm looking for earplugs which is a device that is meant to be inserted in the ear canal to protect the wearer's hearing from loud noises. So if anyone know where I can find them, that would be of great help. Thanks.

I've seen them at Carrefour sold in a travel eye-shade combo.

I haven't ever found decent earplugs here in China, and I absolutely need them to sleep.

So I went to the American site, amazon.com, and ordered a box of 200 industrial earplugs. Cost me like 120 RMB ( ~16$ USD) and they deliver to China. I do an order from them about 2x a year with a bunch of books or whatever else I can't find here in China.

Or, the more sensible way: go to your local Beijing Carrefour!

You can get the spongy ones from pharmacies (drug shops).

I think I got mine from the sports shop at the north gate of the workers but that might be false memory syndrome.

Hi count Zero I know what you mean, however not good quality, no choice, expensive. I looked all over the place, and then got fed up, anyway that's where I get mine, forget brick and mortar mate, the web's the place

These are mine. I'm pretty sure I got them from the Workers for like 4 RMB.

My Chinese friend bought me some 3M ones after I kept moaning about my neighbours drilling on the walls all the time. They worked ok. Reduced the noise to background noise so at least I could work.

What matters is the NRR level, Noise reduction level, check on the back, see what the number is, then look up NRR on the internet and see where yours ranks. Quality is important. The price seems right, it's just the quality which could be improved. You really should care for your ears, snoring sounds can be piercing to say the least Different environments require different approaches to sound reduction. People don't always think of it scientifically, but they should.
