Rogue Motorcycle Rider Crackdown

So this morning on my daily work commute, walking out of the Shangdi subway station and taking the 10 minute walk to my company, I saw three seperate motorcycle riders being pulled over by motorcycle cops. This is unsual because Shangdi is full of motorcycle taxi's and outside the 5th ring road, where normally there is no problems with riding a moto.
I even saw a Korean couple on a R9 scooter with weird non-beijing govement plates being taken aside. The cop had his passport and his keys and it looked like they were seizing the scooter.
Another cop near by my company. Was waiving down all passing by motorcycle riders regardless of the plates to pull over to check their documents.
So any unlisenced foreignor without proper documents should be careful this week.

Maybe because there has been a sharp increase of thieves on motorcycles.

I have noticed more cops on motorcycles also. Makes them easier to get around when you try to outrun them.

I saw them in at one of the stalls in JinWuXing (金五星, to the east of Dazhongsi Metro station). Not a pleasant place to shop, though.

Where can I buy a BMW motorbike? are there regulations on such bikes in BJ?

I'd imagine you'd get one in a BMW dealership just like in every country.
If you were an adult you'd already know this.
