Hope this helps I have just done 2 x HDD go to buy now wei third floor you should see a Logitech dealer turn left four stalls down PC Hospital,

Charge 400rmb per drive if they recover 1 file or 100 same cost no recovery no charge.

All i can say is they recovered ALL the files on both drives.

I have a software that might be able to retrieve the files you have. PM me, so that when I go home, i can search for the name of the the software for you... i feel the pain of losing valuable information...good luck.

Good idea to turn to the PC hospital, But you need make sure there is no your "Private Picture" in it. Don't be another CHENGUANXI , >

try the "FinalData OEM", It works when I recovery the file which been deleted, dont know if this will help you.

试试 EASY RECOVERY吧，我的电脑遭遇过同样的问题，在一周前，就是用这个软件恢复的，96%，如果在使用方面有什么问题，可以联系我。在这方面我可是大拿。

Moonlight, could you please give a more detailed description of how to get to this place? I have no idea where buy now wei is or if that's a store name or name of a shopping mall/center. I'm new to Beijing and need all the help I can find to get to it, as I also have a HD that went south.

Try telling the taxi driver Landou it is a large shopping mall, once there walk west 100 mtrs you will the pc market, or write this down try showing this to the taxi driver BAI NAO HUI this the chinese name

It is also near Fullink Plaza (about 500m east on the same street). Other landmarks are "YueShow Market" (kinda like Yashow) and some really big and cheesy KTV called Melody (both diagonally across the street). It is on Chaoyangmenwai Street.

HIRENS is the answer - sounds like you've shifted your partitions and zonked the boot sector. Copying DVD files or large files does it to windows and its a pain. A couple of months ago I edited 2 hours of video, tried to move it and the machine went haywire.... you have my sympathy man.

Hirens is a disk you can download from the internet that contains a MINI XP. Its really useful!

1.Burn it to a cdrom or put on a USB and boot from it, XP will open in your machine's temporary memory.

2.Open the tools and start "partition find and mount", do a full search and when it finds drives you can assign a temporary letter to them and recover your files to a USB.

Its straightforward and you'll be paying someone to do exactly the same thing.

You can use a third party stellar windows data recovery tool to recover all kind of lost data from windows hard disk. It is very easy to use and works really effectively

try easyrecovery, and use raw recovery function of it.
