Arrested in Kunming on Christmas Eve,,, lovely

6 am in the morning and I am pretty darn drunk so if this post doesn't make any sense please send me a bottle of water and a big mac.

Well,, me and my friend Phil were going out in our Santa suits around 12 o'clock. We get to Kundu and we enter Club Nice where we encounter 4 police officers. I forgot to say that I had made a sign I was wearing around my neck. It said in English and Chinese "Crashlanded in Yunnan. Sleigh totalled. Presents stolen. Reindeer ran away. Having visa issues. Please donate so that I can return to the North Pole". We both thought that was pretty funny but apparantly in the eyes of the police the sign signaled that we were begging for money.

Anyway,, they grab us by the arms and haul us to the police pickup point where 8 of them sit and watch us while they call their superior. When he finally got there he didn't dare making a decision even though my friend (who speaks perfect Chinese) explained to him that it obviously was a joke which would be funny in the west. The guy then calls some kind of lieutenant to the scene of this horrible crime. Thank god this guy actually had a sense of humour and we were let go.

Afterwards I had a couple of things going through my head. First of all,, 4 police officers,, not ONE of them mentioned to the others that this might just be a joke. Secondly,, why didn't it seem odd to any of them that 2 foreigners with z-visas were begging for money? Why did they have to scour through our passports for 20 mins after their superior told them to let us go? Trying to save face after acting like complete 'tards or what??

We managed to have a pretty fun Christmas eve after we were let go so I am not too p;;;;d off about it. I would just think that the police had more important things to do than clamping down on a harmless prank.

(Brian starts singing)
Stewie : Hey, who sings that song?
Brian: James Taylor.
Stewie: Let's keep it that way.

Make up a new sign. Add "... Please donate so I can make bail at the Kumming police station." Sigh
