Re: COOL Chinese Learning Links

I really like Popup Chinese. It's replaced all the other traditional forms of study that I'd been using now that I'm working. I also like the way they're based in Beijing and focus on the local dialect.

Two things I really like are their firefox chinese dictionary plugin - this has saved me a lot of time looking stuff up when surfing the web. One of my biggest challenges is reading and comprehending Chinese news articles. With this plug in I'm able to blow through an entire paragraph without having to open a dictionary. I also get a lot of mileage from their HSK test archives.

Talking about firefox, Chinese Perakun is a cool pop-up dictionary:

Unfortunately the latest version 1.05 for FF3.5 is not yet in the Moz database, but can be d/l here:

Ever wondered how many character a text has? And how many different characters are in a text?

Re: COOL Chinese Learning Links

Try MasterChinese also, it's a really good website. You can download free Chinese learning software at our website. And there are many learning resources as well as Chinese culture, very attractive. What's more, MatserChinese can provide financial aid and student scholarships.

Try now, you won't regret!

Re: COOL Chinese Learning Links

SPAM aside, another nice website is:

http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php

It's dictionary in both directions with Pinyin and sound based on CEDICT.

If you like flashcards you can try ZDT, a free flashcard software. Can also be sued as dictionary, or an Pinyin creator (to transform characters into Pinyin with tone marks)

Re: COOL Chinese Learning Links

My friend Sam have tried Masterchinese. He said it's really cool. He registered it and got a service call from MasterChinese at once. And he had a free trial before he got started the Chinese lessons.

Re: COOL Chinese Learning Links

Hmm. My friend Bob said he tried Masterchinese. I mean, he went on and on about how much it sucked. Honestly, I couldn't shut him up; he said it was so awful it almost made him physically ill.

But that's my friend Bob for you.

Re: COOL Chinese Learning Links

When did your friend Bob try MasterChinese? We have been updating our software as well as web pages recently. I'm sorry for the inconvenience to your friend during these time. But I'm sure it will be much better after our update. Plus, we will add more resources to enrich our web.

I know Bob too. He used it quite recently. He said it was a real rip off. He is now with ChinesePod.com and is really happy.

Bob, that's the way it is, isn't it?

It's also illegal and not CIP registered. Could be a scam.

You never tried MasterChinese, how did you know whether it's good or not?

Sam registered our web indeed and he's having our lessons now.

And he actually will continue his study for our good teachers and services.
