I haven't seen a (domestic) bank in China yet which offers internet banking through a browser different than IE. I guess they don't really care about Mac or Linux users.

I couldn't even use vista with my online account, for some reason only XP can be compatible they said. Best bet would be HSBC I guess, but I havent researched it as yet.

As already said, local banks seem stuck in Windows pre-Vista era. Even Opera and Firefox wouldn't work (active x thingie i think)

I have Vista as well and had no problems accessing internet banking for my China accounts, using internet explorer 7. It has worked with Bank of China, ICBC, Bank of Communications and Agricultural Bank of China.

I found http://www.linuxbanks.cn/ which has details on this sort of thing (Chinese-only unfortunately). Apparently the only only banks offering Linux-compatible online banking are two of the smaller ones: Pudong Development Bank and Guangdong Development Bank. MacOS support might be slightly better, but I wouldn't count on it.

Use the nciku Mobile Chinese Dictionary - the same dictionary content as nciku.com, but for mobile phones (now also available offline as an iPhone app).

The Apple store in Beijing told me that Bank of Communications works on a Mac.

I did not open an account with them, as another BEA Bank was better fit for me (English service, low fees) than being able to use my Mac for online banking without having to run Windows XP under Vmware fusion.
