I was interested in finding the, "best pizza in beijing". So I naturally went to google it.

The very first item on the search list was:

Now this is a worldwide search. I saw the "best" 2 pizzas I have ever seen in my life. Even google sees it.

Gisa used to have OK pizza, but the quality there has declined dramatically lately (of both the food and service)...while the price has remained consistent. The Italian chef/maitre d/whatever must have bailed. Sad

I had Gisa's two days ago and sadly, I have to agree.

The pasta dishes, while tasty, are child-sized.

And the pizza, yeah, I had one with with artichokes, olives and ham and it was not impressive. Very little substance to it and not very tasty. Brittle crust.

During the past year Gisa's has been in decline, I think that's going to be my last visit for quite some time.

There's a place called The Passby Bar that makes a decent pizza, some interesting combinations on the menu like kung pao chicken pizza, sounds gross but pretty good actually.

How about Huton Pizza? I remember it being a bit oily but tasty with crispy thin crust.

A little off topic but since we're talking about pizza I might as well mention it...

Best Pizza in Shanghai: New York Style Pizza (NYSP)

If you ever go to Shanghai you can find this pizza shop in the JingAnSi area (Jing An Temple 静安寺). It's at one subway entrance/exit with JingAnSi as its name which can be found on line 2. When you leave this station you'll see escalators to your right as well as a bookstore and the pizza shop will be to your left (opposite the escalators). This place also has a very popular women's clothing market called 伊美广场 YiMei Shopping Center, so you'll see a lot of beautiful women and some of them are likely to stop for a bite of pizza!

hey guys that i think that the best pizza in beijing is NASCA CAFE'S(Maizidian, opp. YongAn hotel )BOLDER'S GOURMET PIZZA.

THE TREE OR KRO NESTS THEY PUT MASSIVE AD ON ALL MEDIA , NEWSPAPER AND FOREIGN papers.

they use whole flour to make their best dough.

I AM JUST A CUSTOMER AND I LOVE THEIR PIZZA. SO I WANT TO INTRODUCE TO ALL THE PIZZA LOVER!! THE VEGE PIZZA I HAVE NEVER TRIED IN ANYWHERE ELSE SO THAT I REMMEBER THE INGERIDENTS!!

And at Nasca cafe they stand outside Jenny Lou handin out flyers, and they go on the Beijinger and pretend to be CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!

REALLY, GOOD ON THEM!! HOW A GREAT NEW PIZZA BUSINESS TO LET MORE PEOPLE KNOW THEM!! ONLY WAY IS TRY HARD! NICE!!! THEY COULD GO TO APARTMENT BULIDING TO HANDIN OUT FLYER WHICH ALL THE OTHER POPULAR RESTAURANT WAS DOING THAT WHEN THEY WERE NEW!!

I am going to have to boycott that restaurant, because apparently it turns customers into twats who always post in all caps. Come back and tell us when they get that sorted out, and then I'll give them a try.

Nasca Cafe (next to Ganglamedo Tibetan Restaurant in Maizidian)

AMAZING pizzas. wholemeal bases, high quality sauces.. super good!

If anyone has ever tried New Zealand's 'Hell's Pizza' , it is basically te same as that. the guy runnin Nasca Cafe used to work there and has brought the secrets back to Beijing.

Yea its really good pizza and they sell it by the slice. All you could ask for in a pizza. Cheap too as I recall. But I remember they charged 12 rmb for a bottle of local water. Incongruous with the rest of the menu.

Nasca cafe ... was it the owner's intention for the place to sound just like a popular brand of instant coffee?

not the kind of association I'd be looking for if you want to emphasize handmade quality.

Though a step above Origus Pizza, which sounds as if it was named after an obscure portion of the female reproductive anatomy

Maybe for the Chinese, since most of them are unfamiliar with quality coffee. But for us round-eyes they have a subtle picture of the Nazca hummingbird.

for you, you know how bad starbucks coffee taste like(specially, in China)! cafe(french word) means foods and drinks----not only coffee!!
